Every Death In The White Lotus' Season 3
Conclusion & Explanation of Killers

The exciting conclusion of White Lotus season three was filled with significant character deaths. With a premise centered around unexplained deaths in every season, Mike White's The White Lotus has established a reputation as one of the most thrilling dramedy series on television. Even though the casts of The White Lotus are always unbelievable and the character dynamics are exciting, one is constantly thinking about the "whodunnit" of the season premiere.
Several of the stories in season three of The White Lotus could have easily resulted in violence. At one point, it appeared as though Timothy would poison the entire Ratliff family, and the show staged Lochlan's death. The three women who came to the hotel never appeared to be in danger, but they might have been collateral damage because of their association with Valentin and his group. Belinda appeared to be an obvious death candidate, but Greg and Belinda managed to come to an agreement. The season's climax was made more intense by the knowledge that there were multiple possibilities.
Rick
Gaitok's shot
It wasn't until Chelsea's death that Rick realized how much she meant to him. His soul was completely crushed when he found her body. Even though he had rid himself of his troubled past, he had forfeited any hope for a bright future. In a desperate attempt to save what he could, probably in shock, he carried her body away before Gaitok shot him in the back.
Throughout The White Lotus season 3, Gaitok was an intriguing character who was driven away from his innately compassionate and spiritual tendencies by the demands of masculinity. Although he didn't support violence, he was overcome by his desire to succeed and his romantic interest in Mook when Sritala demanded that he shoot his gun in retaliation for her husband's death. The show suggests that Gaitok sacrificed his soul by shooting Rick, even though he may have gotten the promotion and his girl.
Chelsea
Sritala's bodyguards took the shot.
Given that Chelsea was only a bystander to the gunfight, her death is arguably the most tragic in the conclusion of The White Lotus season 3. Her fate was hinted at throughout the season in a number of noteworthy ways, such as the remark that "everything comes in threes" in reference to her two near-death experiences earlier in the season. These occurred during the snake show incident and the first jewelry heist. There was also a definite calm before the storm when she and Rick talked about being together forever.
As Chelsea, Aimee Lou Wood was outstanding throughout the season. Despite Chelsea's peculiar outlook on life, she was obviously a victim of a vicious cycle of retaliation. Rick might have had some affection for her, but their relationship would always be subordinated to the "sadness" she admired in him. Chelsea paid the price with a stray bullet to the heart because Rick was unable to control his desire for vengeance.
The Bodyguards of Sritala
Shot by Rick
Rick was able to take down Jim because Sritala's bodyguards stayed out of the way while their clients took pictures with Jaclyn. Rick took cover during the ensuing firefight and used clean shots to eliminate both of the bodyguards. It is unlikely that viewers will feel sorry for these two men because they were the ones who killed Gaitok during the season. As seen in the closing montage, Gaitok fills the void left by their absence.
Jim
Shot by Rick
For the last two episodes of The White Lotus season 3, veteran actor Scott Glenn played the man Rick had come to Bangkok to meet. Rick learned that Jim was the husband of Sritala, the owner of the White Lotus hotel, and that his mother had told him that his father had been murdered in Thailand by a shady land developer. Rick finally had the chance to confront the man in season 3, episode 7, and the result gave him the satisfaction he had long sought.
Unfortunately, the two men had another run-in when Sritala and Jim came to the hotel on Rick's last day to take pictures with TV personality Jaclyn Lemon. Jim told Rick that he remembered his mother this time, calling her a "slut." Rick became agitated as a result, and in his panic, he went up to Jim and shot him in the chest. Only then did it become clear that Jim was, in fact, his father.
