Enough with the Remakes!!!
Some are good and some are Bad
I’m just going to be blunt:
Can we please STOP!!! making remakes of the animation classics? I’m not just talking about Disney. I’m also talking about DreamWorks. I’m giving you my opinion because, as of now, not only are the film scripts a bit off, but there are a few things that are absolutely (in a figure of speech) throwing a wrench into making a live-action movie. Honestly, what the hell happened!?
Did Disney run out of ideas to make new films, a new princess, or any content with the passion of storytelling? As a writer, the story is a significant part of the film, so if there is too much detail on something that doesn’t matter, it can flop or confuse the reader, or in this case, the audience. Why make the Animation classics into live-action? Children and families love them; making them into live-action is like taking the story's soul.
I am pretty sure Walt Disney was rolling in his grave when the release of Snow White hit theaters in 2025. From what I saw on the app Rotten Tomatoes, it got a review of 40%.

While the animated version in 1937 was a huge success, it helped launch Walt Disney's career. It also helped launch other films, such as Sleeping Beauty, Cinderella, and Pinocchio, to name a few. Sadly, even after Walt Disney's death, more amazing animated films were made. But let’s get back to what I was complaining about…the remake of the classic animation films.

In 2016, The Jungle Book was the first remake of the Disney classics. It was good, with a few changes to get the audience's attention, such as King Louie. In the animated version, King Louie was about the same size as Mowgli, who was about 4 feet tall. But in the live-action, he was massive (he was an extinct giant ape species that was native to India called the Gigantopithecus), Mowgli was small enough that he could have been an appetizer to King Louie.

Then there was the little Mermaid; this remake took the cake. Here is why, and again, this is my opinion. The film flopped because Ariel, the little mermaid, was African-American. I was shocked to hear that stupid complaint. Yes, Ariel was African-American, but so what? The film was great, I loved it. I understand how annoyed the fans of the animation are because Ariel was a Caucasian redhead, I want to point out. Ariel is located near the Caribbean, so she is African American, and her sisters are from different parts of the world. Many people from other cultures have traveled and traded in the Caribbean. And some of those would relocate to the Caribbean.
I haven’t had a chance to see all the other remakes; I haven’t seen the new Snow White film as of now. But to be honest, after hearing from people who have watched the film, and hearing the complaints and comments. Part of me wants to see it because the film is said to have an important lesson.

Now I want to highlight the live-action “How to Train Your Dragon. " I have a look and feel of Erogon, and that film flopped big time. What do you all think of the live-action? Does it feel like Disney and maybe Dreamworks have run out of ideas, and they’re just pulling all the classic animations and making them live action? In my opinion, they’re not only making them better. They’re making them worse, Now, I’m pretty sure Walt Disney is rolling in his grave and just saying to himself “Oh my God, what have they done?” You are not alone on this Walt Disney, there are other fans that feel your pain.
