Days of Our Lives Mystery: Will Phillip ID Xander as his attacker or lie for his half-sibling?

Days of Our Lives viewers knew Xander Kiriakis (Paul Tellfer) had not changed from his old ways when he attempted to beat Brady Black (Eric Martsolf) with a baseball bat and later tried to kill him. Sarah thought marriage and a child would keep her husband's worst instincts at bay, but it was only a matter of time until she saw that she was wrong.

Xander recently beat Phillip Kiriakis (John Paul Lavasier) within an inch of his life, and Salem residents are stunned at his viciousness. Sarah Kiriakis ( Linsey Godfrey) and Maggie Kiriakis (Suzanne Rogers) kicked Xander out of the mansion, and he took the portrait of Victor Kiriakis (John Aniston) with him. He slashed the image of his father and threw it in a dumpster.

Will Phillip snitch on Xander?

Everyone in Salem knows he is responsible for his half-brother being in critical condition, but no one can prove it. Xander used to kill people for his father when he believed Victor was his uncle. His ruthlessness remains a part of him, and he seems to enjoy this side of his personality. Sarah had been turning a blind eye but now she cannot ignore that the man she married and had a daughter with is the same as he always was.

There is only one way to prove Xander is guilty: for Phillip to wake up and ID him as his attacker. Spoilers and fans agree this is the most likely scenario, but what if it isn't what happens? Once Phillip admits his sibling tried to kill him, it will be all over, and Xander will be facing jail time for attempted murder and other charges. What if this is not what happens?

Will Phillip lie or tell the truth?

Perhaps Days of Our Lives fans should brace themselves for another possibility. Phillip could lie that he did not see his attacker, letting Xander off the hook. He could say he was initially attacked from behind and passed out before the brutal beating began.

Victor's youngest son has been remorseful lately about tricking his brother out of half of his inheritance. When his co-CEO went off the rails, he was trying to make amends by getting the Versavix for Bo Brady (Peter Reckell). What if Philip covers for Xander to the shock and surprise of everyone who believes he did the deed? Would Victor's bastard son even care?

Sarah gave her husband chance after chance and thought her love could keep him from his worst impulses. Maggie was the same way with Victor, and she succeeded on many occasions. Telfer's character is a man on a mission who does not care what anyone thinks. He has even implied he would be OK if his brother dies, which shocked his wife.

Phillip is now the victim

Phillip has gone from being the cad to becoming the victim and the misunderstood sibling, and sympathy for him is growing in Salem and with fans. If he does not finger Xander, his mother Kate, Roberts (Lauren Koslow will be furious, but there won't be much she can do about it.

Phillip could exonerate his brother from the goodness of his heart and his desire to do the right thing. He might also blackmail Xander by agreeing to remain silent if he allows him back in the office as co-CEO. With Xander in jail he could not be on top of the merger with Dimera, so the writers have probably given him a way out.

Spoilers tease that Maggie will have her step-son arrested, but he will probably not be in jail very long. Be sure you tune in to Days of Our Lives to discover whether Phillip will snitch on his brother or give him another chance.
