Johnny Wactor's final film will be released this summer one year after he was murdered
The General Hospital actor is fondly remembered and missed by family, friends, and GH fans.

The first anniversary of Johnny Wactor's death
This is the first anniversary of the death of General Hospital actor Johnny Wactor, who was shot and killed on May 25, 2024, while protecting co-worker Anita Joy. The duo worked at Level 8, a rooftop bar, and walked together after a late-night shift to the parking lot. They came upon three men who had jacked up the actor's car and attempted to steal his catalytic converter.
It has been one year since the 37-year-old who portrayed Brando Corbin on GH was murdered in downtown Los Angeles. Wactor's General Hospital character was killed by Heather Webber (Allie Mils), the hook murderer, and fans were devastated.
Brando and Sasha
Brando's wife, Sasha Corbin (Sophia Mattsson), was about to move on with Cody Bell (Josh Kelly) until they discovered they were first cousins. Mac Scorpio (John J York) was revealed to be Cody's dad, and Robert Scorpio (Tristen Rogers) is Sasha's father.
Fans had set up several Facebook groups in honor of "Brasha" who were being considered a super couple until their lives were blown apart. Sasha was distraught over her husband's death and other issues, and later spent one night with her ex, Michael Corinthos ( Rory Gibson). She is now carrying his child, but Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) allows everyone to believe he is the baby daddy.
Gladys and Sonny
Cody's mother, Gladys Corbin (Bonnie Burrows), left Port Charles after her actions led to Sasha being committed to a mental health facility. Gladys made unsuccessful attempts and bad deal to cover her gambling debts. Everything blew up in her face.
Brando's cousin Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) has had heart surgery and plans to leave mob life behind. He was supposed to look out for Sasha, but has spent little time with her recently.
Wactor continued acting after GH
Some General Hospital fans thought Wactor was working at the club because he lost his job on the soap and was not getting acting roles. His last reported roles were in 2023.
Johnny Wactor's first role was in Army Wives, and he was in the NBC series Siberia. He appeared in 25 films, including The Grass is Never Greener, The Con-Artist, USS Indianapolis: Men of Courage, and Broken Riders. After leaving General Hospital in 2022, he appeared in the movies Super Cell, Trapper's Edge, and Dead Talk Tales Volume 1.
His television appearances included Westworld, NCIS, Training Day, and Criminal Minds. He also did voice work in Call of Duty: Vanguard. His final television appearances were in 2023 in Barbie Rehab and Station 19.

It's been a year since Johnny Wactor's tragic death. Protecting a co-worker is incredibly brave. His character's story on GH was full of twists. It's sad how things played out for his on-screen wife Sasha. Do you think the show handled his character's death well? And what about how they're writing Sasha's story now?
