Days of Our Lives fans say Thomas and Rachel are mini diablos and need discipline

These two children should not be running the lives of the adults in Salem.

Why is DOOL allowing the children free reign in Salem?

Ken Corday is the executive producer of Days of Our Lives. At age 75 he grew up during a time when children were taught to respect their elders. The Young ones did not have a say in their parents' love lives or the running of the households.

When many baby boomers were young, we heard that we should stay out of grown folks' business and that children should be seen and not heard. Times, however, have changed. Children is today's society are disrespectful and talk back to their parents and it's allowed.

This behavior recently played out on DOOL with Thomas Dimera (Cary Christopher) calling his father, Chad Dimera (Billy Flynn), a liar for not telling him that Cat Greene (AnnaLynn McCord) had pretended to be his dead mother, Abligail Dimera (Kate Mansi).

Thomas also shouted at his dad, and no one corrected him. Older Days of Our Lives fans have been discussing this on social media. Most say they would have been picking their teeth up from the floor if they had spoken to their parents in that manner.

Thomas should be put in his place

How is it that in 2025, a minor child who is not contributing to the welfare of his home can tell his adult father who he can and cannot date? Some commenters on social media say they were told that when they had a job and paid the bills, they could run the household.

Thomas is a child who is not mature enough to understand the nuances of adult life and relationships. Why would the days writers have him calling the shots? Would any of them or Corday accept such behavior from an underage minor in their own families?

Chad pursued Cat despite the objections of July Williams (Susan Seaforth Hayes), Jennifer Devereaux (Melissa Reeves), and Jack Devereaux (Matthew Ashford). On Thursday, he broke up with her after telling his son that he would make things right. broke up with Cat because of Thomas.

Meanwhile, Jennifer told Julie and Jack that she could never forgive Cat, even though Tom Horton (MacDonald Carey) taught his family to forgive others. Now Thomas has decided he wants to live with his grandparents.

Is Rachel beyond hope?

Chad had the good sense to state that Thomas is a child and does not have a say in the manner. Unfortunately, Thomas and Rachel Black ( Alice Halsey) are plotting together to make certain Chad and Cat don't reunite.

Both of these children need discipline and understanding that they don't get to control adults. Many fans are complaining about these two and wondering why the writers have taken this direction. Several websites describe them as "mini diablos."

Rachel has blocked out shooting her uncle, EJ Dimera (Dan Feuerriegel). She has been terrorizing people for quite a while and has treated Thomas badly in the past. She is being protected by her loved ones rather than made to face her actions. Some fans believe there is no hope for this girl unless the adults take charge.

Can Charlotte escape the madness ?

If Thomas continues to follow Rachel's lead, there is no telling what will happen to him. DOOL viewers have noticed that Charlotte Dimera ( Olivia and Oakley Rondou) is not plotting with her brother and cousin. Fans hope she remains innocent and does not follow their lead.

What do you think? Are Thomas and Rachel typical children or are they out of order and in need of strong discipline? Keep watching Days of Our Lives to learn what comes next for these troubled children and their families.
