Days of Our Lives fans believe Eric and Nicole will split?
Could Greg Vaughan remain in Salem without the love of his life and his son?
Is there trouble in paradise for Eric and Nicole?
When Ari Zucker left her role as Nicole Dimera on Days of Our Lives in July 2024, the show also wrote Greg Vaughan out as Eric Brady. The couple left for Paris, and fans were disappointed. Vaughan soon returned for a few months beginning in September to support Brady Black (Eric Martsolf who thought he was guilty of the hit-and-run of Sarah Kiriakis (Lindsey Godfrey).
DOOL fans wondered if Nicole would be recast and if the two would move back to Salem with baby Jude. The couple had been fighting their mutual feelings for years until they slept together after eating drug-laced sweets from Sweet Bits. EJ Dimera (Dan Feuerriegel) and Sloane Petersen (Jessica Serfaty) went out of their way to keep the star-crossed lovers apart, even rigging a paternity test to indicate that EJ was the father of Nicole's son.
The truth was revealed that Eric was the baby daddy, Sloan left town, and both marriages were over. When Nicole and Eric left Salem for Paris, it appeared they had ridden off into the sunset for a happily ever after, but Eric has continued to return home. He showed up in his hometown just before the death of John Black ( Drake Hogestyn), and EJ mentioned Nicole's absence and asked if there was trouble in paradise.
Will Eric remain in Salem without Nicole?
Eric said he did not have time for the conversation, but viewers could see that Dimera struck a nerve. The former priest later officiated at John's memorial service and was still in Salem after the Salem High graduation.
Holly Jonas (Ashley Puzemis) mentioned twice that her mother (who was never shown) and stepfather were seated on opposite sides of the auditorium, which is fueling rumors that the couple will split and Eric will remain in Salem. Will he remain in town and leave his son in Paris? This remains to be seen.
Thus far, the former priest has not discussed what is going on with the love of his life. The two seemed destined to be together, and baby Jude sealed the deal, but Zucker's departure has changed things. Days of Our Lives viewers wonder if Sami Brady's (Allison Sweeney) twin will decide to remain in Salem and leave his son halfway around the world.

Neither Vaughan, or DOOL has said anything, but the storyline implying problems with the popular characters has fans curious. Will Eric eventually open up to someone and admit what is happening with Nicole, or will he return to Paris to work things out?
The actor's last credited role outside of Days of Our Lives was a recurring role as Calvin in Queen Sugar in seasons 1,2, and 4, in 2016-17 and 2019. He also portrayed Billy Gunther in the made-for-TV movie A Very Country Christmas in 2019.
Will Eric become an absentee dad?
If Eric becomes an absentee father, this will not be art imitating life, as Greg Vaughan is very much involved in his children's lives. He married Dutch model and actress Touriya Haoud on June 4, 2006, and they have three sons. On April 14, 2014, the couple announced their separation. They divorced, and the children live with Vaughan in the US. Haoud returned to the Netherlands.
There is no news about news roles for Ari Zucker, but in 2024, she married Shawn Christian, who portrayed Daniel Jonas, the father of Holly on Days of Our Lives. Perhaps Eric may gain custody of Jude and bring him home to be raised around the Brady clan. Be watching for updates related to Eric Brady and what comes next for him in Salem.
