Cinema in our lives
Secrets of an outstanding motion picture
Most of us have heard the famous saying." You shall not judge a book by its cover."
But the synopsis of a book explains a lot about the writer her/himself and what she/he can deliver. The description of what is on the book cover gives you a slight glance of what to expect. Similarly, a movie's synopsis is essential to provide you with a sense of what to expect from the film.
In my experience of watching movies, I came up with some factors that make a movie a must-watch. Some of them are; Film director, Genre plus description plus trailer, timeline, and inspiration.
FILM DIRECTOR
"A great director gives life to a work of art- gives it a heartbeat... a pulse... opens its eyes to the world."
― Adrienne Posey
One of my all-time best movies was TITANIC. I never really cared to check who directed it; I just knew it had great moments. Every second of the film was so alive and real. The Titanic narrative was incredible, a tragic love story that will live forever. I then watched TERMINATOR starring Arnold Schwarzenegger, and it was a bomb!. My friends and I would rerun it over and over again. We never got tired of it.
When AVATAR came out, everyone was talking about it. I remember my friends saying it was the best movie they have ever watched. I was curious to watch this movie that everyone had been glorifying. I could not believe my eyes when I saw it on the screen; the technology in the film, the creatures, the actors, the story, and everything about it was just unimaginable. It was breathtaking!
As I become a movie lover, I started watching movies by Genre depending on my previous films. If the film I previously had watched was satisfying, I would check the next film's specific Genre before I started it. But with time, I realized that judging a movie solely based on its Genre alone was not delivering as I expected. From there, I started checking for other clues to find out if a film is worth my time without wasting two to three hours or even more on an entirely dull film.
I started checking for the director's names on every movie I watched. To my surprise, I found out that most of the films I loved. Like; Avatar, Terminator, and Titanic were all directed by an award-winning director JAMES CAMERON.
"Imagination is a force that can actually manifest a reality. Don't put limitations on yourself. Others will do that for you."
-JAMES CAMEROON-
At one point, I thought it was just a coincidence until I checked for the director of CREED (one of the famous movies), Ryan Coogler. And I found out that he was the same director of BLACK PANTHER, one of the popular superhero movies.
I concluded that a film director matters to have a tremendous outcome from a film. A director with a great mind will know how to pick the right story and deliver it to the audience. So, the next time you decide to watch a new movie, take time to check out the director in charge. It might save you hours on film that will waste your time.
Here are some of the outstanding Film directors out there; Peter Jackson (director of Lord of the ring trilogy), Steven Spielberg (director of Catch me if you can and Indiana jones). Martin Scorsese (director of Goodfellas), Francis Ford Coppola (director of The Godfather). Check some of these Great Directors films. You will not be disappointed!
GENRE PLUS DESCRIPTION PLUS TRAILER
With the rise of movie sources like Netflix, Hulu, and Amazon Prime, to name a few, it is now effortless to check the Genre, description, and trailer of a movie before you watch it. I'm very fond of romantic dramas. For example, when on Netflix, if I want to watch a TV Series or a movie, first I check its Genre, description, and trailer. Many a time, if the trailer does not catch my eyes, the film will generally not be satisfying.
BRIDGERTON, the voice of the narrator, did a great job. Her voice is, so it becomes a must-watch if you add it to with the trailer. That how I started watching Bridgton. I could not resist my curiosity when I saw the trailer; I wanted to know what it was all about, and it paid off! Every episode was a masterpiece! If you are a fan of BRIDGERTON, check out; PRIDE AND PREJUDICE, SENSE AND SENSIBILITY, and if you need a few political spices to add on, check out THE DUCHESS.
Suppose you are into science fiction, like THE MAZE RUNNER. DIVERGENT will satisfy your curiosity. Also, go for OBLIVION starring Tom cruise. If you can't get enough of it, go for TENET. You can even go on with the AVENGERS; This one is of its kind. Every second of the Avengers movie is worth your attention.
TIMELINE
There are timeline movies with the apparent narrative of going back in time or traveling in the future as the main storyline. I loved A WRINKLE IN TIME, it has an excellent video quality, and the actors portray much courage. If you are a fan of time travel, you can also check out ''THE TOMORROW LAND: the world beyond''. There is fabulous technology in the film, and it's very engaging. I would also recommend SEE YOU YESTERDAY, this one is much worth your time. You will love it.
INSPIRATION
Suppose you are looking for inspiration, whether environmental engagement, human rights activism, or even an optimistic mindset. You can still find movies out there in the cinema just for your kind.

Our Environment and the fight for climate change.
Most of us do damages to our Environment, whether it be minor or significant. One of the reasons is because we do not understand the effects our daily activities have on the Environment.
"We have forgotten how to be good guests, how to walk lightly on the earth as its other creatures do."
—Barbara Ward
One of the best ways to reduce climate change's disastrous effects is to understand how we are damaging our planet and stop such actions. Here are some of the movies out there to look for with the information you need about the Environment.
