Brian Craig wants to return to General Hospital

General Hospital fans enjoy speculating that deceased characters will return from the dead and with good reason. There have been so many Port Charles residents who were presumed dead that eventually came back to life. Brian Craig portrayed Morgan Corinthos, the firstborn of Sonny Corinthos (Maurice Benard) and Carly Corinthos (Laura Wright). He blew up because of a car bomb that was supposed to take out Julian Jerome (William deVry).

Craig began portraying Morgan in 2013 but the character was killed off on October 31, 2016. During the past five years, there have been many reports that the actor would return but he has not. When Benard said last year that he and Craig were working on a project together this fueled the rumors that Morgan was coming back to Port Charles. Craig has said that he is open to a return to daytime but at this point, it does not seem likely. General Hospital fans know that anything is possible but there are reasons the powers that be have not already resurrected thsi character.

Morgan was a troubled soul who was diagnosed a being bipolar like his dad Sonny. He was in a love triangle with his brother Michael Corinthos (Chad Duell) where they both were in love with Kiki Jerome (Haley Erin). Morgan then began an affair with Kiki's mother Ava Jerome (Maura West) who later had sex with his dad Sonny. When she found out she was expecting a baby, Ava was not sure whether the father or his son was the baby daddy. DNA proved that it was Sonny.

General Hospital: The Corinthos family has changed

Carly and Sonny now have a daughter named Donna and are co-parenting Avery (Ava and Grace Scarola) with Ava. Michael has a son Wiley Quartermaine Corinthos ( Viron Weaver). Life goes on in Port Charles as it should but if Morgan were to return he would not be a good fit at this time. The entire family is mourning the alleged death of Jason Morgan (Steve Burton) and Sonny and Carly are about to hit some additional turbulence in their marriage.

Morgan's mom already is dealing with mixed emotions because she and Jason fell in love and were ready to consummate their marriage, Sonny was in Nixon Falls for 9 months with amnesia and thought his name was Mike. he fell in love with Nina Reeves (Cynthia Watros) and by the time you read this the truth may already have come to light. Carly will feel betrayed because Sonny did not confide in her and furious that of all the women he could fall for it was Nina.

Tension will also arise with Michael who set things in motion to punish Nina for keeping his dad away for nine months. He will be shocked to learn what happened in Nixon Falls and stunned that WIllow Tate (Katelynn Macmullen) found out and kept it a secret. There is so much drama within Morgan's family right now that is going to be sticking around for quite a while that there really seems to be no place for him.

General Hospital writers are unpredictable

There is also the fact that Brad Cooper (Parry Shen) has been released from prison and Michael has antagonized his aunt mob boss Selina Wu (Lydia Look. There is enough on the plate of the Corinthos clan at this point to keep things stirred up through the entirety of 2022.

Fans should also consider that Morgan is not a legacy character whose return would be epic like for instance Genie Francis whose returns are always big news. This is not to say that when some of the dust settles that the writers won't change their minds. The bottom line is that at this time although Brian Craig is open to returning it does not look as if the powers that be will do it anytime soon, if ever.
