Bill Nighy and More Join Audible’s Star-Studded Harry Potter Audiobooks
A new wave of stars joining Audible’s immersive Harry Potter audiobooks, set to launch this November.

Audible’s ambitious full-cast Harry Potter recordings have just got even more magical. The platform has revealed a fresh wave of actors joining the project — including Bill Nighy, Sope Dirisu and Saoirse-Monica Jackson — in what’s being billed as the final major casting round before the series begins rolling out in less than two weeks.
The New Arrivals
Bill Nighy (Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1) returns to the wizarding world as Professor Slughorn, bringing his trademark mix of warmth and world-weariness to the genial Potions Master. He’s joined by Sope Dirisu (Gangs of London) as Sirius Black, and Saoirse-Monica Jackson (Derry Girls) as Professor Trelawney.

The new additions continue with David Holmes — Daniel Radcliffe’s long-time stunt double in the original films — as Stan Shunpike; Stephen Mangan (Green Wing) as a spirited Nearly Headless Nick; Mackenzie Crook (Pirates of the Caribbean) as Kreacher; Millie Gubby as the dreamy Luna Lovegood; Tracey-Ann Oberman (Doctor Who) as Madam Hooch; and Anna Maxwell Martin (Motherland) as Rita Skeeter.

The production also continues to distinguish between its younger and older castings of iconic characters. Jude Farrant voices Draco Malfoy during the early Hogwarts years (Books 1–3), with Maximus Evans taking over as the older, more conflicted version from The Goblet of Fire onwards. Similarly, Jake Sigsworth portrays Neville Longbottom in the opening adventures, before Archie Mountain assumes the role as the character matures into one of the series’ quiet heroes.

An Already Enchanted Ensemble
These latest signings join an already dazzling line-up. Hugh Laurie leads as Albus Dumbledore, Matthew Macfadyen lends his gravitas to Lord Voldemort, and Riz Ahmed portrays the complex Severus Snape. Michelle Gomez brings her trademark bite to Professor McGonagall, with Cush Jumbo narrating the series. Mark Addy is Hagrid, Alex Hassell plays Lucius Malfoy, and Daniel Mays voices Dobby, while twin sisters Sara and Avni Deshmukh take on the Patil twins.
Beyond Hogwarts’ walls, Keira Knightley steps into the shoes of the ever-prim Dolores Umbridge, Kit Harington captures Gilderoy Lockhart’s theatrical vanity, and Iwan Rheon delivers quiet depth as Remus Lupin. James McAvoy’s Mad-Eye Moody promises both grit and eccentricity, Ruth Wilson conjures the feral menace of Bellatrix Lestrange, Ambika Mod brings energy to Tonks, Simon Pegg charms as Arthur Weasley, Gemma Whelan embodies Professor Sprout, Matt Berry struts as Sir Cadogan and Leo Woodall adds warmth as Bill Weasley.
The Golden Trio Across Time
As previously reported, the iconic trio is voiced by separate younger and older casts, a thoughtful creative choice that mirrors the characters’ development across the series. Frankie Treadaway, Max Lester and Arabella Stanton bring Harry, Ron and Hermione to life in the early Hogwarts years — The Philosopher’s Stone, The Chamber of Secrets and The Prisoner of Azkaban — while Jaxon Knopf, Rhys Mulligan and Nina Barker-Francis take over from The Goblet of Fire onwards, guiding listeners through the darker, more mature chapters.
In another rare bit of cross-media casting, Arabella Stanton will also portray Hermione Granger in HBO’s upcoming live-action Harry Potter series — the first performer to embody the same role across both audio and screen.
A New Era of Wizarding Audio
The first instalment of Audible’s Harry Potter: The Full-Cast Audio Editions is set for release in November, with the remaining books to follow. Audible and Pottermore Publishing have hinted that a few final names are still to be revealed before launch, promising even more familiar voices from British stage and screen.
For now, this latest announcement cements the project as one of the most ambitious audiobook ventures ever produced — a full-scale reinvention of J.K. Rowling’s world that invites fans to hear Hogwarts as they’ve never heard it before.
