Alien: Romulus Review: Does it offer anything new?
Familiar Territory or a Fresh Take? Here's My Verdict

Alien: Romulus is a sci-fi horror thriller film that has not been launched in India yet but will be released after four days i.e. on 23rd August. Well, I have watched this film with great effort as you all know we Indians are quite jugaadhu, so what was my experience after watching this film? Let's begin the conversation.
First of all, let me tell you a little about the story of this film. In this film, you will see the story of Rain or his brother Andy who along with some of his friends go to a space station in space and there they encounter a dangerous alien then to know everything that happens in the story, you will have to watch this film.
Alien: Romulus 2024 Review
Now let's talk about how my experience was after watching this film. First of all, let me tell you one thing: this film is the seventh film of the Alien franchise. However, even if you haven't seen any of the previous alien movies, you can still watch this one without any issues.
But if you've seen the original Alien film released in 1979 and Prometheus released in 2012, you'll find it easier to understand everything in this new Alien movie and your experience will be better in case of an audience who has not seen any alien movie before.
Now the question is, how did I like this new alien movie? So see, if you watch this new alien movie with the expectations that this movie will offer you such a new thing in the alien franchise that you have never experienced before in the Alien film franchise.
If so, then you will be very disappointed after watching this film.
You shouldn't go to the cinema and watch this film and wait for its release on OTT, but if you want to see aliens vs humans, you want to see humans fighting for their survival. Then this film will offer you everything that you expect from an alien movie.
The buildup of this film is a bit slow, slowly-slowly, elements of suspense, tension, intensity and thrill have been built in this film and the special thing about this film is that here humans are not only in danger from aliens but also by the space station they're on, which is about to crash in a short time. So, the humans not only have to escape the space station quickly but also face the aliens, making you continuously feel the humans are in danger.
So overall there is a lot in the film that will easily keep you invested in this film from start to end.
In this entire film, you will get to see some good intense and creepy moments or even some horror moments, watching which you might want to close your eyes for a while.
Talking about the character work, it's decent overall. The characters of Rain and Andy, the brother-sister duo, have dynamics in the film that you'll likely find somewhat appealing, and you might even feel a bit of care for them. As for the other supporting characters, it's probably best not to delve into them too much.
The element of urgency has been maintained very well in the film and the matter does not end here, aliens are also of three types.
Apart from this, the music, production work, CGI, everything is good.
Weak Points
The length of the film is much longer than necessary, especially the ending of this film, it has dragged a lot and whatever happens in the last fifteen to 20 minutes is not bad to watch but the limits have been pushed so much that it doesn't feel convincing at all.
Conclusion
Well, despite having some such issues, in my view it is an enjoyable film, so I will rate this film 8 out of 10 and would suggest you guys that if you like watching alien movies or should we say if you like watching survival thrillers, then you must go to the cinema and watch this film, you will definitely enjoy it, but if your expectations from this film are such that this film will offer you something completely new, then you can wait for this film to be released on OTT.
Yes, you can watch this film with your family but do keep in mind that there is some blood and violence in it.
So, how did you guys like this film? I would love to see your opinions in the comment box.
