After Two Years, I Have Officially Watched Every Season of "Survivor" Straight Through

It all started in November of 2020 when two seasons of the hit CBS tv show, "Survivor" were added to Netflix. Those two seasons were season 21 "Survivor: Nicaragua" and season 28 "Survivor: Cagayan". This was how my obsession started. I flipped between which season I wanted to watch for a little while before deciding that “Survivor: Cagayan” would be the season that I would watch first due to the theme of the season being Brains vs. Brawn vs. Beauty. It actually happens to still be one of my favorite seasons to this day.

I immediately fell in love with it. I loved the challenges, the tribe dynamics, the contestants, and of course I loved Jeff Probst. I mean who wouldn’t love Jeff Probst? He’s a good looking man!

I’ve watched so much of this show in such a short amount of time to where I honestly think I blacked out for a few seasons. I see past contestants and winners come back and I honestly forget who they are sometimes. Even after looking them up to give myself a refresher on who the contestant was. Sorry J.T. I seriously think I blocked out your season.

Now, here are the seasons that I, for the life of me, cannot block out due to how much I hate them:

• Season 4 “Survivor: Marquesas” I honestly can’t remember another time where I was so annoyed with the final two contestants. The only good thing about this season is Boston Rob. I want some to love me as much as Jeff Probst loves Boston Rob.

• Season 5 “Survivor: Thailand” you know you’re bad and you know why. That’s all I have to say on that one.

• Season 15: “Survivor: China” this cast was just straight up annoying. Courtney, Amanda, and Todd made me wanna scream. Especially Courtney. Sorry girl. I still don’t fully understand how Courtney got brought back for “Heros vs. Villians” for the villains tribe. I personally feel like there were better people that had shady gameplay who should have been brought back.

• Season 21 "Survivor: Nicaragua" the Medallion of Power was straight up stupid and the fact that two people quit in the final 9 just pissed me off. I honestly can’t imagine getting selected to be on the show, getting there, being so close to the end, and going, “Nah, I’m good. I’m fine with quitting” AND THEN ACTUALLY QUITTING! People try so hard to get on the show so it makes me mad when people don’t fully appreciate getting the chance to go on there. You know what you’re signing up for.

• I also absolutely hate Richard Hatch so he gets his own statement from me to him: fuck you. I’m not going to get into everything that he’s done. There are a lot.

• I also hate Dan Spilo from Season 39 “Survivor: Island of the Idols” he was super creepy towards women. Gross. He was also the first contestant to ever be ejected from the show per the producers request.

Now with all of the negatives out of the way, let us focus on the positives! My favorite contestants!!!

• Colby Donaldson

• Boston Rob

• Tyson Apostol (we both live in Arizona so that’s pretty cool)

• Parvati Shallow

• Chris Underwood

• Yul Kwon

• Ethan Zohn (I love you)

• Natalie Anderson

(I also tend to unknowingly love people who end up being absolutely shit IRL so if any of these people actually suck outside of the game please let a girl know. I’m looking at you Joe)

Survivor, I love you. You have been with me through multiple breakups and major life changes. Thank you for always being a constant in my life and I hope to continue being disappointed by those who win because it is never who I want to win. There’s no way I would ever apply to be on the show. Thanks for being my favorite show. I’m off to go watch season 43 now.
