Video Games
I have been playing video games since I was six years old. My aunt set me up on her Super Nintendo, to get me to leave her and my mom alone. I have been hooked ever since. I would ask to play every time I went to her house, and when I was eight years old my mom bought me a Super Nintendo for my birthday. She took me to the store after school and let me pick out a few games. Since then I have always had a gaming system or two. Right now I have three of my own, and yes I am a girl.

Let's Tank Akali | 'League of Legends'
Not everyone can be a tank, not everyone can survive a prolonged fight, some people are intended to get in and get out, and for many, fight or flight always terminates in flight. I'm of the opinion that anyone can survive a long fight, particularly so in the case of video games.

'Magical Warrior Diamond Heart' Review
People always say something or someone is a “diamond in the rough,” but what kind of image comes to mind when you hear that? Do you imagine a diamond, the kind you see in the store on rings or necklaces, stuck in a cave wall and they just need a little cleaning before being set on gold? In reality, diamonds and all gems start out as these huge hunks of rocks that you would never guess that people would want. It is only after they get cut into all those hearts and squares all shined up do the gems have any value. So, the phrase “diamond in the rough” really means the start of a gem that needs a little time and effort to really shine. One diamond in the rough I found is a visual novel called Magical Warrior Diamond Heart, but to be honest, it is already shining pretty well.

My Input on Girls in Gaming
As a kid growing up in the 2000s, I was subject to all sorts of games and consoles becoming more and more popular. I had an older brother who introduced me to all sorts of PS2 games like, Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit or Lego Star Wars, and a father who introduced me to fantasy-inspired games like Spyro the Dragon and eventually World Of Warcraft.

'Street Fighter V' Review
I have to admit I was a late adopter of this game. Even though I loved Street Fighter 4 and have followed the Street Fighter series forever there was something I didn't like about Street Fighter V. Initially, it felt slower and I had to relearn all the rules. My friends would destroy me at it when the Vanilla Street Fighter V first came out. I didn't have a PS4 at the time and I vowed to wait until the system and the game became cheaper.

'Summer Nightmare' Review
Over the last couple of months, I've started gaming a bit more frequently than I used to. Where I used to game perhaps once every few weeks, there have been times over the last few months where I would play for a few hours two or three times a week. In the midst of all these games that I played was a visual novel called Doki Doki Literature Club.

The Allure of Strategy Games
Real-time strategy (RTS) games and turn-based strategy (TBS?) games have one major detail in common, they're all about money. One might assume when such a broad and vague statement is made, that the reference is to the real-world purchases that keep game companies afloat. In fact, this is instead a statement of a broader pool of currencies: battlefield currencies and national resources. Allow me a moment to reminisce and divulge the secrets of these worlds that are less about tactical domineering and more about economic engineering.

Table Top Basics: Terminology
Sometimes gamers use some really bizarre lingo. I'm the first one to admit that two D&D players talking shop can sound like Klingon to the untrained ear. Here is a short list of twenty terms, in alphabetical order, that will help decode the gamer jargon.

Video Games and the Blind
It is no secret that I am a lover of video games. Ever since I was a little girl you could usually find me playing video games—usually, at that age, I was obsessed with a fantasy dungeon game called Gauntlet Legends. Which if you have ever been to any kind of arcade, have a least encountered this once famous fantasy.

The Murkoff Connection Part II
Welcome back everyone. It is time to continue the Murkoff Connection series. In the last article I discussed the basic rundown of Outlast. Now it is time to continue by tying in the events of Whistleblower to the events of its predecessor. Then I'll be finishing this crazy race off with the connection between these two games and Outlast II. It is time to re-enter the amazing craziness of the Murkoff Connection.
