Experiencing the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time
I was only six years old when I started playing Zelda. I didn’t even know how to read, and I know this because I remember standing in front of the Great Deku Tree for the first time and having my Dad help me read what he was saying. There are many reasons why I was hooked, especially so young. More than that, I still play sixteen years later. When I go home, I get on the N64, the Gamecube, and the Wii, shuffling through over twenty years of production. As a kid I placed bets on how many times I could defeat Ganondorf without using a fairy. As a teenager, I was seeing if I could beat the game in two days. Over the years, I became an expert on how to run through Ocarina of Time.

DECEIT - Why Girl Gamers Aren't Welcomed
I have been a member of the online gaming world since the first “Cow Box” (READ: Gateway Computer) found a home in our Upper West Side apartment when I was 16 years old. To put it in perspective, that was the year 1999. Ancient, right? It was a literal marvel to me that after listening to the cacophony of electronic sounds that signaled your AOL internet connection being established, I could cruise the world wide web. Of course, these were the glory days of sites that resembled a black sheet of construction paper littered with oddly spinning cartoon characters and neon words…but none of that mattered. We were connected to something larger than ourselves. We were connected to each other while absent in body. We rode a highway filled with information that could be accessed by mere keystrokes. Entertainment possibilities were expanded to epic proportions in a swiftly evolving creature that crawled through wires and over airwaves.

Nicktoons Video Games
Heard of The Avengers? Fuck that! This is the greatest crossover event in history. As a child of the early 2000s the Nicktoons Unite games were the coolest thing ever. A game series bringing together the biggest Nickelodeon characters of the time, SpongeBob, Jimmy Neutron, Timmy Turner, and ya boi, Daniel Phantom. They did a whole bunch of these, and today I want to talk about them. This era was an interesting time, where there was a lot of cross platform licensed games, often from different developers. I decided to play through all the GBA versions of these Nickelodeon classics. Why not play the console versions that have actual cutscenes and voice acting that is probably better content to talk about? Because I didn’t play those versions when I was a kid! This is what I could afford, so shut up!
