How to Unlock the Uncrafting Station in Disney Dreamlight Valley

Turn Your Crafted Creations Back into Valuable Resources

By Muhammad JawadPublished 8 months ago 4 min read

The Uncrafting Station is one of the most useful tools you'll come across in Disney Dreamlight Valley, especially if you’re the kind of player who frequently crafts furniture, decor, and other items—only to realize later that you no longer need them or you’re running low on resources. With this magical station, you can reverse the crafting process and regain some of your materials, making it much easier to manage your inventory and keep building your dream valley.

However, as you might expect from a feature tied to the whimsical and mischievous Cheshire Cat, unlocking the Uncrafting Station isn’t as simple as placing a request at the crafting bench. It’s part of a multi-step questline that requires patience, resource gathering, and a few unique tasks.

Here's a full walkthrough to help you unlock the Uncrafting Station and make the most out of it.

Step 1: Unlock the Cheshire Cat and Reach Friendship Level 7

Before you can even begin working toward the Uncrafting Station, you need to unlock the Cheshire Cat as a villager in your Valley. This character is part of the Alice in Wonderland expansion content, so make sure your game is up to date and that you’ve progressed far enough in the storyline to access the Wonderland realm.

Once the Cheshire Cat is in your Valley, start building your friendship with him. You’ll need to reach Friendship Level 7 before the quest related to the Uncrafting Station becomes available. You can increase friendship by talking to him daily, giving favorite gifts, and assigning tasks like gardening or fishing.

Step 2: Begin the “Uncrafting Station” Quest

Once you've achieved Level 7 friendship with Cheshire, he’ll initiate a quest that eventually unlocks the Uncrafting Station. As you might expect, the steps are quirky and layered—true to Cheshire’s character.

Task 1: Craft Wildly Jubilant Topiaries

Cheshire Cat’s first request is for you to craft three Wildly Jubilant Topiaries. These aren’t found naturally—you’ll need to craft them using:

15 x Clay

15 x Soil

5 x Pink Houseleek

These resources can be gathered as follows:

Clay: Found by digging in the Glade of Trust, Sunlit Plateau, or Forgotten Lands.

Soil: Commonly obtained by digging anywhere in the Valley.

Pink Houseleek: This flower typically grows in the Frosted Heights biome.

Once crafted, bring the topiaries back to Cheshire Cat.

Task 2: Place and Destroy the Topiaries

He'll ask you to place them somewhere in the Valley—and then break them using your pickaxe. Don’t worry; this won’t require any special potion or power-up like some past quests. You’ll also receive some of the crafting materials back, teasing the idea of a machine that could do this more efficiently.

Step 3: Repeat with Balloon Arches

Next, Cheshire Cat gets even more curious. He’ll want you to do the same thing—this time with three balloon arches. Gather the required materials, craft the arches, place them in your Valley, and break them with your pickaxe just like before.

After breaking the balloon arches and chatting with Cheshire again, he’ll finally start talking about creating a device that could handle this automatically—the idea for the Uncrafting Station is born.

Step 4: Collect 20 Blue Spores from Wonderland

To get this machine started, you’ll need to return to the Alice in Wonderland realm and collect 20 Blue Spores. These can be found all around the forested part of the realm, particularly near or beneath the large blue mushrooms near the entrance. Keep an eye out and scour the area carefully.

Once you collect all 20, return to the Cheshire Cat for the next phase of the quest.

Step 5: Gather Materials for the Uncrafting Station

Cheshire will give you a final shopping list of materials, claiming they’re necessary to create the station. The list might seem strange for a crafting machine, but just go with it:

28 x Mushroom

6 x Purple Bell Flower

4 x Blue Passion Lily

17 x Glass

35 x Hardwood

Where to Find These Items:

Mushroom: Collect these from the Glade of Trust biome.

Purple Bell Flower: Found in Forest of Valor.

Blue Passion Lily: Grows in Frosted Heights.

Glass: Can be crafted at a crafting bench using Sand and Coal Ore.

Hardwood: Found in Forest of Valor, Glade of Trust, Sunlit Plateau, and Forgotten Lands.

After collecting all these items, head to a crafting station, and the option to craft the Uncrafting Station will be available.

Step 6: Use the Uncrafting Station

Once crafted, place the Uncrafting Station somewhere in your Valley. When using it, select a crafted furniture item from your inventory to uncraft. The process will take some real-time waiting (similar to how the Slow Cooker works in the game). When the timer finishes, you can collect the materials that were used to make the item.

Finally, return to the Cheshire Cat to complete the quest. From this point forward, the Uncrafting Station will be permanently available for you to use as often as you like.

Why the Uncrafting Station Is So Valuable

Resource Recovery: Easily get back materials you no longer need or accidentally used.

Inventory Management: Clear out unneeded items without waste.

Crafting Flexibility: Try new designs and furniture layouts without fear of losing rare materials.

Time-Saver: Don’t spend hours hunting for rare flowers or wood—just uncraft!

Final Tips

Keep extra crafted items stored just in case you want to uncraft later.

Flowers like Blue Passion Lily and Purple Bell Flower respawn daily, so gather extras for future use.

Visit the Uncrafting Station regularly to reclaim resources and make room for new creative designs in your Valley.
