I Am A Triple Threat
A triple threat is a person who is skilled in three different but related skills, abilities, or fields.

A triple threat is an idiom for a person who excels in three distinct areas or skills. Usually, the three areas are related. Some people might think only celebrities and athletes are triple threats. However, this article is designed to set the record straight.
Examples
- A musician who is equally talented as an instrumentalist, singer, and songwriter.
- A person in the film industry who can write, produce, and direct.
- Football players are triple threats when they can run, pass, and kick effectively.
- Basketball players are triple threats when they can pass, shoot, and dribble.
- Celebrities are triple threats when they are proficient in acting, singing, and dancing.
Not all well-known celebrities are triple threats. Remember, the word "triple" means "three." Therefore, if celebrities are successful in only one or two areas, they are not described as triple threats.
Well-known celebrities who are indeed triple threats include Beyoncé, Jamie Foxx, Selena Gomez, Ryan Gosling, Janet Jackson, Jennifer Lopez, Lady Gaga, and Justin Timberlake. They act, sing, and dance.
Do not make the mistake of thinking that only celebrities and athletes can be triple threats. I believe the expression can be applied to many other people. It could be any person who is talented in three areas. Usually, those areas are different, but they are related in required skills and abilities.
I am not a celebrity, but I am a triple threat because I excel in three related areas: teaching, preaching, and writing.
Teaching
I have a B.A. degree in English and have taught for many years in high schools and community colleges in Metuchen, New Jersey, and in the Richmond, Virginia metropolitan area.
I have an M.A. degree in Christian education and an MDiv. degree in theology. Those two master's degrees have allowed me the opportunity to teach Bible courses, design, and facilitate workshops throughout the Richmond area.
In 1997, I became the owner and director of The Way of Life Spiritual Development Center in Partnership with Oral Roberts University. I designed and taught 22 courses in biblical studies and theology. From that partnership, students have become ministers and pastors. I also teach online classes to individuals from around the world. I have never met them in person, but I know them only from their participation in my online classes.
Preaching

I was licensed to preach the gospel in 1997 while still in seminary. A year later, I was ordained and became a minister of Christian education. Because of that position, I have preached and taught Bible Study in many local churches and conducted workshops at churches, retreats, and conferences.
Writing

In 1998, I started a digital ministry, in which I write and distribute daily devotionals to thousands of people all over the world. Besides that, I have written articles for many online sites. Currently, I write for three online sites:
- Hubpages: 1,701 articles
- NewsBreak: 2,799 articles
- Vocal.Media: 500+ articles where you are reading this article
I previously wrote for Examiner, Blasting News, Inquistr, and Soap Dirt.
A Triple Thread
I am not just a triple threat because I teach, preach, and write. I excel in other related areas as well. Therefore, I like to think of myself as a triple thread because I have other abilities woven throughout those three key areas. For instance, I mentor, counsel, and help others with their ministries.
