The National Science Day
Embarking on a journey to commemorate National Science Day (28th February). As in 1928, Sir Chandrasekhara Venkata Raman made significant & historic contributions to science to revel in the Raman Effect. He further went on to receive a Nobel Prize for the discovery in the year of 1930. The event is extensively celebrated across numerous educational institutions, viz schools, colleges & universities. The joys of the joy are various themes that have been assigned with the National Science Day since the year 1999. This year’s 2021 theme is “Future of STI: Impacts on Education, Skill, and Work.”

Faster Than Light and the Big Rip
Way back in 1638, Galileo tried to measure the speed of light. He stood on one mountain top, and his assistant stood on another. Galileo uncovered his lantern, and when his assistant saw the flash, he uncovered his. Galileo believed he could time how long it would take for the returning light to reach him. Needless to say, it didn’t work, and he concluded that light “if not instantaneous, is extraordinarily rapid.”

Climate Changes
Researchers have come to a conclusion that climate changes are caused by human activities. The most dangerous consequences of climate changes are global warming, greenhouse effect, temperature increase and the destruction of the ozone layer. Human activities released a great amount of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere, causing greenhouse effect. As a consequence of fossil fuels burning, industrial practices, deforestation and other agricultural processes, the great number of greenhouse gases are emitted into the air. These gases act like a blanket that covers the whole surface of the earth and trap energy in the atmosphere warming the planet. The process is called greenhouse effect, and it has a negative influence on peoples welfare and health while destroying the ecosystem.
