Drew sat slumped in his leather wingback chair staring into the roaring fire. His dress shirt was open halfway down his chest, and a glass of scotch in one hand. The only other light was the green glow from the tiffany lamp on his desk. Watching the dancing flames, he thought back on the evening’s events.

Before I Wake
Isabel wobbled toward her bed with a beer in hand. She plopped down heavily on the sheets and took a refreshing swig of the amber liquid. The T.V. was on. Spotify played the radio playlist of Soca and Reggae. She glanced up at the screen and smiled; Feel Good by Popcaan was queued for the next song on the list. She chuckled and reached for the handle of her underwear drawer. Picking up a long flesh-colored object wrapped in plastic, she smirked and bit her lips. She stuffed the object underneath her worn tan pillow before laying her head against it.
