Why The Night Was Dark
A Story Inspired By "The Stolen Moon" by Valeria Kotsareva

Introduction
This is a story inspired by the painting above that I found on The Enchanted Booklet here:
The music is "Sisters Of The Moon" by Fleetwood Mac
Why The Night Was Dark
Every night the moon rose and bathed the village in brilliant starlight, but tonight was different. The moon did not rise.
There were distant stars, but the night was very dark,
People were worried.
They did not know but the moon had been stolen by two weird sisters who were taking it home to give it a rest,
After lighting up the village for many years, the weird sisters knew that if the moon did not get a rest, it would die, and there would be no more moonlight in the village.
The weird sisters were The Sisters Of The Moon, and when the Moon was ready, she would rise up into the night sky, spreading silver light over the village.

Gorgeous work Mike! Very Creative!
What a cute little fable, giving the moon a rest (Iβm glad that you didnβt make them evil witches or something similar). Very clever. And thank you for including a Fleetwood Mac songβtheyβre my favorite band, and they were my momβs favorite band as well, so that brought a smile to my face.
Actually, this is a great story of caring for a said kind of 'family member'. Good job.
Loved this. And it goes perfectly with the illustration!
Loved how you turned the dark night into a story of care and renewal. It gives the moon a gentle humanity that feels comforting.
Oh, I loved the twist. I thought they were up to something nefarious, stealing the moon. But of course, the moon is always so steady for the people, it would have to be forced to take a break. Lovely story.
Awww, so sweet of them to give the moon a rest. Loved this!
