Rocky Mountain Way
For Belle's "On This Street" Challenge

Introduction
This is for Belle's "On This Street" Challenge which you can read about and take part in here:
Rocky Mountain Way
He didn't know how he got there. There was a rail line running into the Rocky Mountains, but this was where it ran out. If he wanted to follow it, it was into the Rockies.
If a train was going to come, it was going to come from the mountains, but he didn't know why it would come here. There was nothing but trees, snow and rock. There were no people or signs of humanity, except for him.
H could only follow the track into the mountains. He had no weapons and no way of contacting anyone; there were no phone lines, and it was getting colder.
There were overhead electrics, so there might be a phone at one of the rail wire pylons, but the first one he came to, the line was dead. He walked furthe and railway line ran out, it must have only been seven hundred or so yards. He then thought why was it here, and why was he here?
It was getting colder and he did not know what to do, which direction he could take, but there was no shelter and the night was drawing in.
He didn't know it but he was being watched, he had been taken by "them" for an experiment.
"How is this one doing, do we think he will survive or find his way out?"
"I don't know, he seems confused, we need someone with the mental ability to ignore what he sees and finds the pathway through the forest to the facility, but he is still obsessed with the railway track"
"Well, it is put there to give them a direction and a littel hope, and then dash that hope when they realise it goes nowhere. Then we hope that they will look for alternatives, and if they find their way back to here, we may potentially recruit them"
They watched as he gave up and led down against a tree. It seemed the only way out was by the railway track, and the track went nowhere.
"I think this one is done, move the body when he is dead and we will find another potential recruit from one of our press gangs"

Problem solving is all of life, and being able to press on in the face of confusion and apparent failure is so important. I loved it. ππ
What a great story of being able or not able to find direction that one needs to take in life. Good job.
This is really quite twisted... Loved reading it mate. I like the idea of 'being watched' and social experiments. It feels really creepy - great work
