The Ushers Of The Year's End
Although it is no secret, very few people know this. They are mostly witches, druids, seers and wise women.
Many years ago The King of Elfland set some of the fairies an annual task to usher out the old year and usher in the New Year.
Every human has a life tapestry and during the year new embroideries are added. some parts wear thin, fade and even wear out, and by the end of the year life's tapestry becomes threadbare and worn, and must be repaired.
If a life tapestry is allowed to fade, the human fades too.
The fairies and their insect aids, butterflies and spiders, take the treads from the old year's tapestry and weave a new one for the coming year.
Nothing goes to waste, and hopes, resolution, new loves and loves are woven into the new tapestry, and when midnight strikes on the last day of the old year humans all get their new vibrant tapestry with all their hopes and dreams woven into the threads.
This is the magic of renewal and something we should all embrace because the Ushers of the Year's End, The King Of Elfland's Fairies, will always be there for us.
