The Princess That Weaves The Northern Lights
A Fabulous Chatfiction Story

Child: "Mummy, is there a princess who weaves the Northern Lights? How does she do it? What is her name?"
Children always have questions, and even when they are given answers, they have more questions. This is one of the many ways that children learn
Mother: "There is my love and her name is Ilyl. She loves to share beautiful things with us on Earth, and the Northern Lights are one of her most beautiful creations. The real name for the lights is the 'Aurora Borealis', and for the people on the opposite side of the world, she weaves the 'Auroral Australis'"
Child: "How does she weave that beautiful ful magic curtain of light mimmy?"
Mother: "Ilyl takes the light from the Moon, the Sun and The Stars and draws it into her mystic spinning wheel and then casts her spells and weaves her wonderful curtain of light for us all to marvel at"
Child: "Mummy what is a mystic spiining wheel? What does it do?"
Mother: "It is a wheel that drawas thread to weave material, mut Ilyl's is used to weave light. It is like an acient magic version of mummy's sewing machine"
Child: "Mummuy who is Ilyl and can she teach me how to weave the lights?"
Mother: "Ilyl is the child of ancient god, possibly Wotan and Freyja who you know from you bedtime stories. She only reveals herself to the most special people, and she might show herself to you one day if you are good"
Child: "I would love to weave light mummy, but I am tired now"
Mother: "Come, I will put you to bed, and you have a tale to tell your teacher tomorrow"

Beautiful picture. Truly love the story <3
The way you infused the narrative with an almost folkloric rhythm made it feel timeless, as if it could be whispered around a fire on a cold northern night. A truly magical read!
