Last Minute

The world was ending, but they didn't care, that was just their job. They were the planetary demolition crew contracted by anyone who could afford them and this was just another one on their weekly job list.

The planet's inhabitants were frightened to death, but they wouldn't be frightened long. The crew would not tackle planets that might be able to defend themselves. They were bullies, and the money was good and that is all that mattered.

Maybe one day they would make a mistake but they always chose the targets carefully, and so far that meant they had never had a problem. That didn't mean they never would, but they had a laugh and a drink as they left this planet scorched and lifeless, then looked up their next job.
