The Poet
His Words Could Work Magic

He never thought he was anything special and he still didn't think that, although he knew he was, which was a bit contradictory.
The first thing was when I a girl he really liked asked him to write a poem from her to a boy she liked. He had asked to go out with her, but she said she loved having a friend she could talk to and didn't want to spoil it.
He wrote the poem for her, and within a week she was dating the boy of her dreams who loved the words she had given him.
Then a friend was having problems at work and the poet wrote a few lines about how talented the friend was. A few days later they were given a promotion, and they said they thought the reason was that the Poet's words had made their attitude more positive and made them believe in their self which resulted in the promotion.
The Poet was often melancholy because he saw how his work made life better for those he cared about but when he wrote personal poems his life and situation
Stories spread about the supposed magic of The Poet's words and though he knew he was no magician, his words seemed to affect the lives of the ones he wrote for.
Then one day someone asked him to write a poem to hurt someone they knew. This shocked The Poet and he looked at what had happened and saw that the green-eyed monster of jealousy had taken hold of the person's mind. The Poet wrote words to calm their anger and although the person did not like them at first eventually they saw the error of their ways and were eventually reconciled.
The Poet was happy that others benefitted from his words but wished that he could too, but he decided that his melancholia was a fair price to pay for others' happiness.
Maybe one day The Poet would find fulfillment and happiness.
He knew he deserved it, but was happy to wait and be there for others.

If my words had that power, everyone would know because they'd be so many people dropping dead. Lol. Loved your story!
Why, it's "Good Luck Chuck" but with a different vehicle for the luck. Love it! Identify somewhat with it (especially the friends without benefits part).
I love how you went with this. So glad he chose good over the evil his pen could have caused. <3 Only I do hope he finds happiness some day <3
beautiful poets
What a great concept, and I was pleased to see he didnβt go to the dark side, but, instead saw the good he is doing.
In a few words, exceptional, something different. Full of love for writing from both poets.
