The Bogfrog Cycle
It has been eleven years and the bogfrogs were finally grown. The realization did not fully settle on Menthe that morning, nor the next. The realization did not settle until a large frog unhinged its jaw and swallowed one of her cows. The Serpent Sign
Long past the Age of Dragons, well into the Era of Man, two souls were born into a royal family on a moonless night. In the nation they were born, the coastal state of Aqentis, there was a superstition regarding twin births; a superstition hailing back to the nation’s genesis and its twin dragon rulers. It was said that the birth of twins was called the Serpent Sign. Once thought to be an augur of good fortune, it is now considered an ill omen, heralding a disaster to that bloodline. On that moonless night, the princess of Aqentis, Niolandi, gave birth to twins: a girl and a boy.

A prelude to a war
The throbbing forest was cleared in a heartbeat as he slowly approached the source of the wailing that had been screeching in his ears for too long. He had not resorted to breathe. Rain has been absent for a while and the forest was dry as bone. Fire is tempting but fire is chaos. His throat swelled up and he could feel his blood boil and the path beneath his feet light up in bright orange, but he kept his mouth sealed tight. Tendrils of smoke spat out from his nostrils and fed smoke to the canopies of trees that weren’t lucky enough to evade his approach. His claws dug deep into the ground as he walked as gently as he could.

Irelia
A quiet calm surrounded the queen Ariata upon walking through the portal. Ears still ringing from the clash of battle left behind in her own world, the stillness of the air made her pounding heart seem louder. She took a quick glance back to make sure the way was closed, then stumbled forward, falling to her knees. The heavy bundle wrapped securely around her chest began to stir at the sudden impact. “Shh now my child,” she crooned softly, “you are safe.” Her blood soaked hands shook while she delicately unwrapped the girl, revealing large grey eyes and a head of jet-black hair.
