The Intern - Chapter 2
The East Coast was inundated by heavy rains but that didn't stop people from gathering at one of the local pillars of the community and the C.E.O. of Global Dynamics Interprises' home for a party. The party was being held at his mountain home, really his base of operations, in the Roanoke Valley area of Virginia. Manfred Powell came from five generations of money and influence and maintained his grip on the Washington scene by keeping a watchful eye on all things that were of concern to his businesses, and his extracurricular enterprises. In his free time, Manfred enjoyed hosting parties for political allies and gathering what he called, "like-minded" individuals with deep pockets to support his allies on both Capitol Hill and at the White House.

"Making Room"
The four rose early that wintery Christmas morning. Daniel had slept downstairs on one of the oversized couches, whiles his three teenage children slept around him on the floor, in a mix of sleeping bags, extra couch cushions, and quilts. Daniel’s old St. Bernard, Clairveau, acted as pillow for Laney, his youngest, while his older son Caleb vied with the dog for the loudest snore. Jenny, the in-between daughter, was the earliest to rise, and simply hugged her dad until he stumbled to his feet.

The Castro Diamonds, part 7

It was the first line after the signature greeting "My Dear Reader" which began all of famed crime reporter Doris Killian's articles. This one was dated November 5th, 1964.

Click
She must've fallen asleep and lost control, veering her rental car into the deep snowy ditch before going airborne, skidding over a thankfully frozen pond and into the dense forest just beyond. She lost track of how many times she rolled, her brain slamming into her skull back and forth until she was no longer conscious.

Radio Silence - Part 2
He took his keys out of his pocket and absent-mindedly put them on the small square side table next to the couch and not hanging up on the key rack by the front door. Joe looked out the window. In the darkness of the early morning, before the sun had even risen he could see his reflection. He looked even more pale than he usually did. He had felt a bit not himself the night before but nothing too out of the ordinary.

It was the third time Patrick had gone upstairs to check on the roof since the three of them had eaten supper. He was trying to keep himself from climbing those five stories more than once every two hours, but it was going to be difficult now that Heather & Josiah were asleep. She had given out shortly after they’d put the baby to bed & he was glad for that. She needed the rest. Seventy-two straight hours of record-breaking snowfall & blizzard conditions were putting everyone in the apartment complex on edge.

The Cold Hearted Merman & The Adventurer
Mermaids, Merman, same thing! CHAPTER 1 Mermaids! That’s the story. Well “Merman” actually. I’ve always been a believer myself. However the last thing I expected in this life was to meet him. To truly bond and get to know him. He let me learn his ways and I let him learn mine. I didn’t expect for it to get this far though…
