In Which Clarice Goes to a Farmers' Market
Clarice feet were wet. The rain seeped insidiously over the top of her pumps (Bargainshoes.com, £12.99) as she trailed after the bundle of ribbons and thigh-high orange pleather boots which constituted her live-in landlord. The sky was flat and as grey as the concrete surrounding her without even the benefit of London’s irrepressible dandelions to break it up—the same colour as the chain-link fence plinking merrily at her in the rain, the same colour as the dull Ford Focus rusting guiltily on the double-yellow lines, the same colour as the city itself.

The Diary of Mishelle Gold
We’ve had another busy week!!! I’ve decided to carry on with the brokerage until we actually move into Jack’s father’s estate, which may be next month some time. Jack can’t see why I should give it up and — I don’t really want to — but it does need a lot more thinking about. Jack has gone over to America, to the School, to sort out his position there because they have offered him to be the Headmaster, which is amazing. The tours he’s been doing were to build up publicity about the School and ‘it’s done the job’, so they have asked him to be the Headmaster. Jack wants to so he is going to ‘sort things out’ so that he can keep his career as well as join in with the Earldom (I think that’s right).

The Enclave - Chapter One
Read the prologue here... The forest was filled with noise, but the interior of the carriage was quiet. Mikhail was busy with a book, while Tiera stared out the window, lost in thought. She knew that she wasn’t being sent away because her parents didn’t love her. Quite the contrary, since even she could admit that she had grown up extremely indulged. It was just that, as the Destrier Seat of Power was one that didn’t require it’s Holders to be able to use magic, and as she and Mikhail were the first Magicians born to the dynasty in generations (Well, excepting Mikhail’s mother, but she had been disinherited and died when Tiera and her cousin were infants), there simply wasn’t anyone to teach them.

Starborn
STARBORN CHAPTER ONE A slightly muffled chime rings in my ears, awakening me from my slumber. My eyes snap open to meet the kingdom of Cinedime smiling at me from afar, although sadly, its face is blotched with patches of gray and black. Once before, the planet was an assortment of vibrant greens and blues. I am surrounded by a vast starscape filled with little twinkles floating along as wisps in this sea of black.

Desert Winter
Chapter 1 It was a morning like any other, the sun peeked over the distant mountains bringing a haze of orange, yellow, purple, and red which spread across the sky to welcome the new dawn. Reya stood in her tiny cabin to face the rising sun, watching with a cup of cheap coffee clutched between her hands. How she wished she were seeing different mountains, and that the temperature would not climb above seventy degrees.

Lu Fasiaitu, the God Slayer
Chapter 1 The ocean spray exploded into a shower of warm, salty rain on Lu’s face as boisterous waves collided with the Alia’s bow. The large ocean sailing double hulled canoe was an impressive sight as it cut through the waves effortlessly under the skilled guidance of Lu’s steady grip of the steering paddle. This 100 foot vessel moved through the water like a dolphin, efficient and fast, as if it were skimming on top of the waves.

A successful night
After the big fiasco with my brother, —or rather, with the fake Chris Evans on account of my brother killing him— I decided to take a bit of a break from dating. Don’t get too excited, by break I mean two weeks. I had to get over the shock of what had happened.
