See the Light Chapter 1 Bound in Darkness
Chapter 1 “Are you a spy?” The voice cut through the dense fog in my mind, its tone as sharp as a blade. Spy? My thoughts twisted in confusion, grappling with the accusation as I lay sprawled on something cold and unforgiving, the chill seeping into my bones. My eyes remained closed, but the pain was already a steady drumbeat in my skull, each pulse a reminder of how far I was from understanding anything.

The Unspoken Grief
Sarah sat in her living room, her fingers tracing the rim of her coffee cup. The house was quiet, the kind of quiet that seemed to amplify every small sound—the ticking clock, the hum of the refrigerator, the soft rustle of the curtains as a breeze passed through the window. She had grown accustomed to this silence, yet today it felt different, heavier, almost suffocating.

You left
You left me. Lonely. Scared. A child who is only safe holding your hand and you let her go in the deep night, get lost in fear. I see our memories every time I close my eyes as if I’m walking bare feet on sharp glass. I still see your face in my selfies, holding my shoulders, your smile lightening the picture. The night that I now am forced to endure alone is sad, scary, foreign to me, different from the night I am used to. The night we walked hand in hand. The night we shared ice cream cones. The night filled with laughter echoing through the heavy trees. Now the trees are bare and the stars don’t shine. The moon is naked, unable to keep me safe. The person who was used to cry in your arms about the harsh nights is now crying in the arms of the moon about your absence.

Is time travel possible?. AI-Generated.
Where Are All the Time Travelers? Is the 21st century just too boring for time travelers, or are they incredibly secretive? One explanation I find compelling is that time travel requires a receiver-station, meaning you can’t travel back to any time before the first receiver was built. Since we haven’t built one yet—or at least, I haven’t heard of it—this could be the reason we don’t see any time travelers around.
