We collect things. That is part of what it is to be human.
We build things.
We expect things to always be there, whether we have a use for them or not.
But things started going missing.
People just assumed they'd lost them, and they would turn up, but they didn't.
It might be a can opener, a small ornament, at first it was nothing worth bothering about.
Then things started disappearing that were bigger and more important. People started blaming friends and family when money and valuable things disappeared.
People became solitary, but things kept disappearing,
Each day things got worse, and then they started seeing things fade.
They realised that it wasn't their friends stealing things.
Reality was fading.
Where things were going to no one knew.
There were theories of another dimension, or even God taking back his creation.
Nothing could be done.
Buildings, animals, vehicles and land began to fade.
The only thing that didn't disappear was people.
Soon this would be a blank world with nothing but people.
There was no food, no way of communicating, nothing.
People were starving but there was nothing to eat.
The other thing was that no one was dying.
They were just here starving.
Something stopped them from eating each other, that was just not an option.
This was the end of days, but not how it was written in the Bible, but of course, there were no Bibles now. There were no books.
Humanity had intelligence but it had nothing to work with but itself and humanity was not a viable raw material.
And so it descended into madness, from which there was no return.

Oh wow. This is fascinating. Well done.
Great work and gives one a lot to think about and it is time to make some changes.
This would certainly be a dramatic end if that’s how the end of time would look like
Oh wow, starving but not dying from it. I think that's even worse than starving to death. It's like they're stuck in that circumstance forever. Loved your story!
Wow learnt few stuff here. This is the world we live in
A compelling picture of a world unraveling at the seams! Love this, Mike! 💌
