Castaway
There were five alerts competing for his attention. Loudly. The most urgent of which indicated his bio-monitor was no longer functioning. Which probably had something to do with the large crack in his visor that should have killed him instantly, but against all odds he was still breathing.

The Reduction-The strange man
I became worried about my safety but he said 'It's okay. Just be cautious, and Liam? Don't drink the water.' Puzzled and conflicted about this person and their message I hear the last call for my name. I head to the room for my check-up and I met the doctor. He begins the basics but stops, he says, 'You look dehydrated, you should have more water' with a cup from behind him. Despite my thirst, I reject the water. He said the nurse just brought it and poured it out of the refrigerated bottles but I remain firm.

The Reduction-The doctor
He proceeds with the check-up but asks how my day has been. I recount the events while excluding the strange man in the waiting room. He asks, 'I hope the wait was not too long. I know impatience can run some people mad'. I tell him despite my appointment, the wait has been acceptable. He tells me, 'Steer clear of unacceptable things like that dangerous bike path you ride on…but no broken bones today.' I leave my checkup with bandages and some pain medication but still, I see the strange man outside.

The Reduction-The worried man
'Hello, I didn't drink the water as you said.' 'Good' 'But how did you know he was going to tell me to drink water?' Seated outside the hospital he begins to tell me a lot. His name is Orson and he feels he's seeing things. He talks about the history of it and how he takes relaxant pills because of his heightened anxiety but is questioning everything. He narrates some of the dreams he's talking about but one of them sounds similar to the plot of a movie I've watched which I point out and he says, 'I know, I know, I narrate some of the dreams I have and people think I slept watching some movie or the other but this feels real with different named people. That's how I knew you and knew you shouldn't drink the water but I don't know what's happening to me'.

'Are you strong?'
'Are you strong?' I keep hearing her say it. She said she was asked in a supermarket but it disturbed her all day. She didn't understand why a simple question about carrying her items would pester her mind but I told her to drop it behind. The question haunted her dreams and eventually, there was more than it seems. Finally, she said she was asked 'Are you strong?' the same day she was asked 'Where do you belong?'.
