Egg Sandwich
I ordered an egg sandwich at a gas station. It tasted funny, I was so hungry I didn’t care. I kept eating. I went home, an hour passed. I heard squeaky voices inside my head. “We are the worms from the sandwich. We’ve built a civilization inside your head.” “Get out,” I said. “No,” the worms said. I felt them doing something to my brain. I started walking to the fridge against my will. They made me drink a beer and eat another sandwich. They now had complete control over my brain and body. All I could do was obey.

Light Always Wins
Darkness turns its head away from light. The old lady walks daily past my window. She stops to say hello. Her face with deep wrinkles looks up at me. Tears in her eyes as she begins to speak. Memories flash in her mind as if she was 20 again. Her tattered multicolored dress flows in the warm breeze of the sunny day. She walks daily, reliving her youth in her mind as the tears return. Sunlight shines on her face, and her tears evaporate. A smile appears from the wrinkles that 90 years had sculpted in her long history.

Decisions
The two boys climbed the cliff like they often did. Like most boys they tussled and climbed rocks. They ran after each other and gave chase. They decided to climb the lone tree on the cliff. They were nimble boys, both small yet strong for their age. Their father called to them and said it was dinner time. The boys climbed higher so the father went towards them. The branch holding the boys broke, while the father desperately tried to hold both boys about to fall off the cliff. Only one could live so he let go of both and prayed.

Soulmates
Lights began to flicker as the music grew louder. The dance floor began to crowd as the guests got up to liven up this wedding reception. The bride and groom were in the dead center of the floor; swaying along to the music as if they had been the only ones in the room.
