a microfiction love story

By 'Lissa StufflestreetPublished 3 years ago 1 min read

Lights began to flicker as the music grew louder. The dance floor began to crowd as the guests got up to liven up this wedding reception. The bride and groom were in the dead center of the floor; swaying along to the music as if they had been the only ones in the room.

My eyes turned to the man standing beside me. The one I never thought I'd be standing next to him, our fingers entwined. For once, he was smiling as he turned to me, raising my hand to his lips.

"Would you like to have this dance?"
