The Arcade
There was an arcade at the old building. It was only open during school hours. Kids would ditch school to go there. It was ran by a man named Dr Insidious. He wasn't a real doctor, and that was just the name he used. One day an arrogant annoying boy skipped school and told him his games were too easy. Unaffected, Dr Insidious challenged him to his own game-skull dice.

Linden's Flower. Top Story - January 2024.
EDIT: I was somehow under the impression that we weren't supposed to credit the creator of the image we were assigned, but that wasn't the case. I'm happy to give credit to Leslie Merrit for the featured image I had the pleasure of using for the challenge.

A Plumeria to Remember
I brought a plumeria with me today. Sitting at the spot. You know the spot. Where we would sit. Where the sea air catches against the palms and filters down the long fronds and we would feel the chills course through our bodies. As I feel those chills flow through my body and shiver, I remember. I remember it like it was yesterday, the first time we sat there. The first time I reached over to you and pulled you in close to rest your head against my body. To warm you.

Com N. Decency
It is with great regret that we announce the passing of beloved citizen Com N. Decency (originally Com N. Sense, Jr.) on November 8, 2016. He was poisoned in his sleep, left to die a slow and painful death. His final words were “Don’t punish my murderer too harshly. You must pity those who are so sick as to commit such a deed.”

Blood for Blood. Top Story - January 2024. Content Warning.
Looking out onto the waters from his canoe, Taima sighed, waiting for his adversary to surface. "You'll need this," Nitis handed Taima a bow. "It's the only thing powerful enough to damage it. Conventional weaponry's futile."

The Sickening
When Dad saw the dragonling on the kitchen table, he did a double-take. I didn't think people did those in real life. Took his glasses off, cleaned them, put them back on. The whole bit. Got close, drinking in every scale. His eyes, already huge behind his glasses, looked even bigger.
