The Doe Drinks Here
The doe drinks here. Stripped bare, her skin puckers a mottled mushroom grey in the chilly October air. She shivers, gooseflesh prickling up her spine, dipping low to cup her hands in the water. While she drinks, her eyes dart, scanning the tree line, cautious against anything lurking in the wood. The last shards of light from the dying autumn sun lit upon her face, purple bruises cast under her eyes like shadows. The stream laps at her dirty feet, tasting them. Her hair hangs, long tangles matted with dirt forming curtains around her face. On her right hand flashes a chunky iron ring. So, she has not been stripped completely, it seems.

I will not hurt you
It was a typical October day. Halloween decorations have gone up all over the neighborhood. Maybe this year I could get my son to go trick or treating, I thought. My son and I piled into the car to go to the grocery store. The one outing he would go with me on without too many anxiety issues. It was going to be a wonderful day. I had plans to buy a pumpkin for each of us and let him win in a pumpkin carving contest, and other festive weekend plans. Just my son and myself. Seemed weird, yet blissful to think. It was my first weekend off work, and being single in our new home. Having escaped an abusive relationship a few months back. I finally felt free even though I had guilt over my son having to see all that happened; I still blamed myself for his condition. I still hated myself for what he endured.

Deep Dive
I dropped the boat’s anchor, finished zipping myself into my wetsuit, then took one final look at the map. I’ve dived Lover’s Point before, too many times to count, but one could never be too sure of what they’d find just beneath the ocean’s surface. I was not arrogant enough to think that I was a master of anything, much less, of the sea. But that is what I liked most about being out here, especially at night. The ocean was calm yet rustling, inviting yet mysterious, familiar yet strange.

La Diablesse
The overhead light of the passenger door illuminates as the woman pulls it open. Errant strands of long, dark hair fall here and there across her shoulders, loose but secured by a simple black ball-cap. As she ducks into the seat, the brim of the cap shadows her face. She smells like a sunny beach day, with hints of lilac and sea breeze. She is out of place in the middle of the night on this clifftop road, skirting mere inches from a harrowing drop into the foggy sea below.

Lady Of The Lake
June 11th 2006 The gentle current of the lake slightly brushes my thighs as I walk knee deep in the water. Eventually everything around me has gone quiet, the only thing that can be heard is the rustling of the waters hitting the shore. Off in the distance I see something skim the surface of the water, and in a blink it's like it wasn't even there. my heart pounds as I continue to walk never going deeper, yet never tempted to leave.

Box of Mystery
It’s almost Halloween ,that means i need to decorate my house. As I look online for Halloween decorations i heard a knock on my door, i looked outside the window no one was there but I could see they left something on the porch so I decided to open my door and see what it is. As I walked back in my house with a heavy box in my hands i went to the kitchen to open it up, and inside the box is a big bright orange pumpkin.
