Fairy Lights
Grandpa and I were spending another night on the porch, having a beer and listening to the sounds of an early spring. The snow had melted, and the critters were just starting to wake up. The forest was alive with the sounds of insects and small animals as they moved about in the light snow that still seemed to hang around sometimes. I had seen a possum the other day, heard him too as he dug through the trash, so I knew that the snow wouldn't last much longer.

Blue Moonlight Part Ten: A Sanctuary in the Dark
The tension around the table was oppressive, Elania glowering at her brother Johnny. Jean wasn’t much better, Shadow tapping his fingers on the table. Sir Deathwish hovered behind me, Avery and her father sitting in confused silence. A pregnant pause hung between us all, my friend Luna speaking up first.

Haunted Cabin
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. Now it’s been said, by the oldest rangers in this camp, that no one really knows who built the cabin, or why. That one day someone noticed this shabby, decrepit and very much deserted thing sitting in the woods. Every camp leader avoids the trail that wanders past it, the woods itself a warning that something is off with its deathly silence. It feels like the cabin itself is the predator, waiting for its prey.

How It Will Happen
The cabin in the woods had been abandoned for years, but one night, a candle burned in the window. And the candle contained a death watch. And it ticked. And it said everything that it said. Tales of Lemuria
PROLOGUE Back in the days before their soul codes were rectified, the spiders were a wretched and terrifying species. This particular tale is told by a member of an invasive species of plant that was at war with them at the time. And the subject of this tale is a spider named Mawhg, who lived in one of the many wastes of Lemuria. It is to be noted that the spiders of this age were of what would be considered ridiculous proportions in our day, 6 feet in height and covered in chitinous armor. This tank-like body housed a fell predatory intellect, and as a result of this, was painstakingly avoided by the creatures of Gaia. Despite this they were not inherently evil, though some held palaver with demons to be certain. Mawhg was one of such arachnids, spinning webs of foul design both figuratively and literally, whispering and muttering sorceries of blackened intent to ensnare Lemuria’s denizens in chaos. One day after a particularly potent tantrum that Mawhg was prone to in his dark cavern, he made up his mind to destroy himself and as many other Lemurians he could bring with him.

Hellbound
Hell Bound 1 Uncle Reggie never remarried after his wife miscarried, so, I was the only one left to leave anything to. The abortion inducing medication Mifepristone was found in Auntie Beth’s system, and she allegedly hadn’t put it there. Beth told everyone it was Reggie, and he made no attempt to deny it, which was as good as an admission to my folks. She didn’t end up pressing charges; she mentioned vaguely that Reggie had connections, though dad scoffed at that. Auntie Beth divorced him soon after, and we never saw her again, which was a shame, because, of the two, we actually liked her.

Chatterbox
She died very suddenly, though none of us could have known what lay inside her. Her name was Kimi, Kimi Ngyuen, and she was from Korea or Singapore, or somewhere like that. We never learned much about Kimi. Her family didn't speak very good English, though Kimi spoke it well enough to understand lessons. We tried to befriend her, but Kimi was shy and I'm ashamed to say that we took to bullying her. We were elementary school girls and extremely clicky. Kimi was an outsider, she wore strange clothes, she didn't speak like we did, and we made fun of her for it. Most days she just sat in the back of class, sat on the pavilion at recess, and said little to anyone.

Revenant
I sat upright in my bed with such violence that my head reeled with confusion as it tried to awaken and catch up with my startled body. For a moment, all I could make out were the hands of darkness maniacally pressing down on my eyes. My breath rasped sharp and shallow. An intrusive, mid pitched droning coupled with a high-pitched beeping pulsated in my head. It took a few seconds for my dazed brain to realize this is what had woken me up. The flashing red light of the alarm skittered like a spider across my room and crawled into my bed.
