A bird's secret
Everything around Alaura was so bright and beautiful. The air around her was warm and comfortable. She stared in awe as she walked along the rainforest glancing up into the trees and the rock side as blue, yellow, and red feathers filled the sky. A sense of security filled the young girl as she started to run through the forest as feathers began to sprout all over her body, her arms changing into wings as her body shrunk to the size of the rest of the macaws.

Fowl Language
Dew droplets on the highest branches shimmered in the rising sun, which soon evaporated into swirls of steam. As the western wind swept up the sand, the steam and wind circled in lazy funnels, disturbing nesting macaws and parrots. One pair of scarlet macaws, Indigo and Crimson, batted their eyelids against the sand.

Everyone knew that the lady that lived in the house at the end of the street was a witch. Mothers would pull their children closer to their sides when they passed, and soldiers often lingered as though contemplating whether slaying this figure would bring peace to their village. On days where she ventured out into the forest to gather supplies for her potions, the roads into and out of Minara would be eerily silent and bare.

Knight's Haven
I stood frozen in my place for a while after Jace walked off. The shock was holding me there, staring at where he had disappeared in the woods. Time wasn't exactly high on my list of worries, I must've been there for ten- fifteen minutes before I bothered to snap out of this state of paralysis, hearing the engine of a car. Out there, even if it wasn't too far into the woods yet, it was quiet. The only other sound was that of the wind blowing through leaves. A car engine was an easy sound to pick out.
