Quarantine Dates
Distracted by my presence, as I walked into the Black owned meat market , during quarantine day 5. A tall dark complexion gentleman turned around in line and stared into my eyes while looking at me from head to toe and said , ‘You look beautiful in that dress, and very sexy.’ I said to myself, ‘How does he know how beautiful I am with my mask on?. The white eyes of something long dead. Moon after moon. Without fail. I wish I knew what it meant. I wish I knew who those eyes belonged to. Maybe then, I wouldn’t be plagued by them. Maybe then, I could get a decent moon of slumb.
