Wrath of The Dragon Prince
Part 1
By Dani Eldridge
This is a story of how anyone can overcome their hardships and any other
Kind of obstacles life throws your way and still achieve greatness, happiness and success and all it takes is motivation, determination, faith, a strong will and perseverance.
Firstly, I would like to thank my Lord and Savior for granting me the inspiration and imagination to write this story.
Thousands of years before the age of man, there lived many unique types of people and
these people had many incredible talents and abilities, but then these people were not fully human. They were Dragon shifters.
The dragon shifters were created by the Ultimate Dragon God, Ragnarok.
Ragnarok had blessed these shifters with the ability to turn from human to dragon and back if they so chose to, but that is not the only gift Ragnarok bestowed upon his creations.
The shifters were also given the gift of being able to use and control magick.
There were many different types of dragon shifters, and each clan had the abilities to control and manipulate their specific element. One clan could control the element of air, another one could control the element of earth, another could control the element of water, and another one could control and manipulate fire.
Then there were the Royal clan of dragon shifters, and they can use the ultimate purifying magick called Holy and they can use and manipulate any other element they chose.
The member of the clan with the strongest magick were chosen to become part of the Counsel of the Royals, and they were the political advisors to the Good King Devan Royal.
The Royal clan had been ruling over their country of Draconia for centuries, and during their reign the country had flourished, the people loved their king and queen and they put a stop to all the neighboring feuds and even prevented other countries from invading and warring with Draconia.
The Royal clan were King Devan, Queen Silverine, Princess Diamond, Princess Sapphire and lastly,
Prince Bjorn of Clan Royal.
Unbeknown to the Royals, the fire clan shifter had already started planning a coup d'état to overthrow the monarchy for his own greed and selfish ambitions and because he was incredibly jealous.
On the evening of Princess Sapphire’s 17th birthday, Blaze of the fire clan had given the order to launch a preemptive strike on the kingdom and to kill every member of the Royal clan.
It was a total bloodbath; the corrupt soldiers were attacking and slaughtering the people mercilessly and without remorse.
That night everything was supposed to be perfect, the king was going to announce that a pact had been made with the country of Ebony, whom was on a warpath with Draconia but came to an agreement that the prince of Ebony and Princess Sapphire were to be married to unite their houses. Blaze, with all his hateful jealousy, found the queen and the princesses about to escape through the secret emergency tunnels, when they noticed Blaze and saw the deep-seated hatred in his eyes, knew he was to blame for everything that was happening. When the queen looked at Blaze, she asked him “Why!?! How could you!?” He told them “this was all supposed to be ours Sapphire!!! We could have ruled Draconia together, but it’s too late now!! But I digress, I have a very special gift for you all, here” to said as he handed Sapphire a dark sack. Sapphire cautiously took the sack and reached in to pull out what was in there. To their utter shock and horror, she pulled out the decapitated head of king Devan. “Blaze!!! How could you!?! How could you!?! We trusted you!!!” the three screamed at the same time. Blaze was completely unfazed by their reaction and just smirked at them. “Do not fear my dear sweet queen, you will be reunited with dear old Devan soon enough, and once I’m done with you three, that bastard Bjorn is next.” Queen Silverine and the princesses immediately knew they were in grave danger if they didn’t run, but as they turned to flee, the soldiers had them surrounded. Blaze then drew his dagger and slowly approached the Royals like a predator on the hunt. “As fun as this is, I grow tired of this meaningless chit chat.” Blaze then took his dagger and plunged it into Silverine’s heart, killing her instantly. Then Blaze plunged it into Princess Diamond’s heart killing her too, all while Sapphire stood there in paralyzing shock and utter terror. “As for you, my love, what should I do with you?” Blaze then started to tsk “decisions, decisions oh what will I do with you?”
Blaze rushed Sapphire then shoved her up against the wall. Blaze then started to rip off Sapphire’s dress and proceeded to force himself on her. After he was done, he took his blood-coated dagger and plunged it into Sapphire’s heart Killing her as well.
Once Blaze had completed his gruesome and brutal task of killing the queen and the two princesses, he then went in search of Bjorn the dragon prince. As he went to leave, he turned to his appointed Captain of the guard and said with a sinister look on his face “bring their bodies to the front gate, we are going to show the people of Draconia who is now in charge.”
During all the chaos, Bjorn has had to fight his way to the Royal armory to don his battle armor and retrieve his weapons, his swords and daggers. Bjorn never really enjoyed battle training, but he did so at the command of his father, and not only did he complete his training, but he excelled at combat training.
Even as a child, Bjorn was a quick and efficient learner, and he mastered every weapon and fighting techniques.
Everywhere Bjorn looked, he was seeing his home, his kingdom and all his people being burned and slaughtered like cattle. It was a major bloodbath. As Bjorn made his way to the throne room, he kept thinking “fuck. Where is my family? Are they safe?”
As he kept traveling further into the palace, he swore that the echoes of the cries and screams of his people would haunt his dreams forevermore.
As he made his way into the throne room, he was met with such a disturbing sight.
Hundreds of their most loyal soldiers and citizens were dead, and not just dead but brutally massacred. As he lingered in the throne room, the coppery scent of blood was everywhere and that only increased his fear and panic for his clan.
Bjorn then made his way into the secret tunnels where his mother and sisters made their escape, but Bjorn was met with such a horrifying sight. Blood, and puddles of blood were all over the ground. But then something shiny caught his eye and he turned to look at what it was.
It was the clan rings that belonged to his mother and sisters. Upon seeing the rings, Bjorn hurried through the tunnels and reached the end of the passage which led to the front of the kingdom.
Upon reaching the end of the passage he felt a deep and intense feeling of dread, and as he came out of the passage he had realized why. It was an ambush. At the front of the ambush was none other than Blaze, leader of the fire clan and a member of the Royal counsel.
“Greetings Prince Bjorn” Blaze said in a mocking tone. “Blaze!!! What the fuck have you done!? We trusted you!”
“Well, since you asked oh so nicely, I will tell you. You and your family were a bunch of incompetent fools, unworthy of ruling Draconia. Now that your family is no more, I will rule the way I see fit and there is no one who can stop me.” “What the fuck are you talking about? Where are my family?” “Well, my dear prince, if you would be so kind as to turn around and look up on the gates, you shall see.”
As Bjorn turned and looked up on the gates as Blaze said, his heart and soul shattered into a million pieces, and it took everything to not give in to despair.
As Bjorn looked up, he had seen the bloody, life-less bodies of his mother, sisters’ and the head of his father and those who were the most loyal to the family mounted up on the pikes of the gate.
“As you can see, your family and all those foolish enough to waste their loyalty on such a weak, pathetic and incompetent family have paid the price for such foolishness when they could have been spared and allowed to live, but they chose to fall instead of bending the knee to me.”
It was that moment Bjorn realized just how much everyone loved and supported his family during their reign. It was then that Bjorn had closed his eyes and sent a silent prayer to Ragnarok to help him survive this catastrophy and to swear vengeance upon those who had so maliciously betrayed him and his family. What Bjorn didn’t realize was that while his eyes were closed, Blaze had silently approached him with a dagger in his hand. Blaze struck Bjorn in the chest just barely missing his heart. Bjorn knew without a shadow of doubt that if he didn’t get away, there was no chance of him surviving. Bjorn struck Blaze down with as much strength as he could muster, which knocked Blaze down and gave Bjorn the much-needed distraction to run towards the river that was on the side of the kingdom. A river he had spent much time at as a child fishing and swimming in during the summer season. Bjorn had dove into the freezing river and swam as far as he could while bleeding out. He was unsure of how much time had passed or how much distance he had put between himself and the traitors. But he knew that he had to keep going.
Sometime later, Bjorn had washed up on the shore unconscious. Sometime in the early morning, a clan of farmers were nearby fixing the wheel of their wagon that had broken during their journey to Draconia to trade and barter with the local market owners for food and supplies. The patriarch of the clan went to the river to retrieve some water to drink, when he discovered some poor young man unconscious on the bank of the river. The farmer slowly and cautiously approached the young man to check if he was alive, and once he rolled the young man over and checked his life force with his magick and then he saw the young mans face and immediately recognized him as Prince Bjorn of Clan Royal. After hearing the announcement made by Blaze that the Royal Clan is now all dead and he is now the new and ultimate king of Draconia, the farmer decided that the young prince must survive at all costs and that meant they had to hide him from the soldiers. The patriarch had carried Bjorn all the way back to the wagon and told his family about him and that he is the last remaining heir of Clan Royal and he is the only one who can restore peace. With his family all dead, Bjorn is now the rightful heir to the throne of the kingdom of Draconia. With the farmer’s clan now fully aware of who he is and what has happened just days ago, they all agreed that they must protect their prince at all costs. With everyone in agreement they decided to not go to Draconia and instead return to their home far away in the farmlands of a village.
A day later, Bjorn had awoken, and he was confused and overwhelmed. He thought “what the hell happened? How am I still alive? Where am I? How the hell did I get here?” He then looked around the room to see if he could figure out where he was but didn’t recognize anything. What confused him the most was that his Royal armor and weapons had been removed but they were all in a chest in the corner of the room. Someone was able to remove his armor and take his weapons, so why didn’t they kill him? Bjorn had heard noises and voices of people speaking nearby so he grabbed his sword and dagger and silently crept downstairs to investigate. As he silently came around the corner of the house, he took a quick glance to assess what he was dealing with. Around the dining room table was a small family in the kitchen preparing for breakfast and getting ready to sit together eat breakfast. Seeing this made him think of his family and that brought on a wave of grief and heartbreak like he has never known.
Bjorn stepped out into the dining room where the family was, they all looked up at him with wide and surprised eyes. Upon noticing him the family immediately stood up and kneeled to the prince while the patriarch was the first to speak. “Greetings my lord, we are on our farm on the outskirts of the village of Obsidian. We had found you gravelly injured outside the City of Draconia, specifically we found you washed up on the bank of the river several miles outside of Draconia. There where soldiers everywhere looking for you or proof of your demise. I had to remove your armor and weapons to avoid detection after the attack.” Upon hearing this from the farmer, the memories came flooding back to Bjorn like a wave; the betrayal and massacre of his family and most trusted friends and advisors, the destruction of his kingdom and his subjects being slaughtered and burned to death. “Why would you all risk your lives for me? You do realize that once Blaze discovers that you have assisted me, he will kill you all?” The patriarch of the clan didn’t say anything, but the family all shared knowing looks, when the patriarch just got up from his seat and walked to another room and when he came back, he was holding something in his hands. Bjorn instantly recognized the sigil of his clan on the amulet he was holding. Bjorn just stared at the patriarch intently. “How did you get this?” Bjorn asked. “My lord, there are things very few people know. Like how Your parents grew up with my parents and they became very dear friends. So much so that when your parents married and were crowned king and queen, my parents swore loyalty to them and pledged unyielding fealty for eternity and created special rings for each member of your clan. But that is not all, your parents suspected someone inside the counsel was going to betray them, but they had no proof only suspicions and they sent word for us to come and help get you and your sisters out of Draconia. As we got to the gates, we had seen what those rotten traitors have done and realized that we were too late.” After hearing this revelation, Bjorn was in a state of shock. The patriarch was not done. “What I cannot understand is that your parents had a unique connection to the Oracle of the Temple of Ragnarok, and she has the gift of foresight and premonition. She should have gotten word to them on what was to happen. She alone could have prevented all of this and yet she had done absolutely nothing.” The patriarch had noticed that Bjorn was starting to become fatigued. “My lord, you are still injured and need rest. We can talk more later after you get some rest.” “Bjorn.” “My lord?” “Please call me Bjorn. After everything you have done for me, I don’t know how I can thank you.”
“You don’t owe us anything. I’m Mikael, my mate is Sasha, and my daughter is Kaeli and my twin sons are Jake and Drake. Now go get some rest.” As Bjorn went up to his room, he couldn’t stop thinking about what Mikael had said. His parents suspected betrayal? Why didn’t they say anything to us? Why didn’t the Oracle warn us this was going to happen? So many questions had plagued his mind until he couldn’t think straight and prayed to Ragnarok for blessed darkness to descend on him and grant him sleep. However, his sleep was short-lived with his nightmares, his mind replaying that horrific night and thinking back to see if there were signs that he missed. But of course, nothing comes to mind, and he is totally baffled. He thought back to his encounter with Blaze and remembered that he was desperately in love with Sapphire but she didn’t reciprocate his feelings. Thinking of his youngest sister sent a pang of sadness through him.
That night as he lay awake in his bed, he swore to Ragnarok that Blaze and everyone else who had a hand in betraying and massacring his family and most loyal friends and citizens will die by his hand and there will be no mercy for them.
A few weeks later, Bjorn was getting ready to go up to his room to go to bed and the family was getting ready to go to bed when there was a sudden knock on the door. They all looked at each other in confusion thinking the soldiers have come, and Mikael told Bjorn to go hide in the attic. Bjorn did no such thing. He went to retrieve his weapons and came back down. Mikael was about to scold Bjorn, but then a soft feminine voice called out “Prince Bjorn, It is I Athena the Oracle and I must speak with you urgently.” Bjorn thought “what the fuck? Is this a joke?”
Mikael went to the door and let her into the house. As soon as Athena entered the house and looked at Bjorn, he could see such pain and anguish in her crystal blue eyes and his inner dragon had come roaring to life growling and snarling “Mine” and “Mate.” It took Bjorn several minutes to get his dragon under control, and when he did, he then asked Athena in an indifferent tone “why are you here and what do you want?” “Bjorn, I swear to you had I known this was to happen I would have come myself to warn your family of what was to come. This is the reason I am here now.” “And what reason is that?” “Someone has been able to block my magick and my foresight. This is why I didn’t see this happen.” “How is this possible? How can anyone block your magick and gifts?” “This situation is graver and more perilous than we have realized. There is only one way anyone can block my sight and that is with the help of the forbidden magick.”
Hearing this gave Bjorn and Mikael a deep feeling of dread. Bjorn was just confused, and Mikael had seemed to understand what that meant. “What is the forbidden magick? Why didn’t my parents say anything to us about it?” It was Mikael who answered. “The forbidden magick is an extremely dark magic. Most magick is about helping and healing, however the forbidden magick is about nothing but hatred, destruction, death and corruption and anyone who dares to try to harness it descends into extreme madness.” Bjorn thought back to his encounter with Blaze, and he could see the hatred and corruption in his eyes and the destruction and death he had caused on the attack of Draconia. “As for your parents, they had thought the forbidden magick was just a myth. Hell, even we didn’t really believe in that shit ether.”
That night as Bjorn sat on the bench in the garden, he sensed someone approaching him and he knew immediately that it was Athena. “Bjorn, I know that you blame me for what happened to your family and kingdom. But I swear to you, had I known what was to transpire I would have done anything to stop this. You know Ragnarok had gifted me the ability of foresight and I have always had it ever since I was a young hatchling, and now that I have been cursed with the forbidden magick, I do not have my foresight and I feel so lost and confused. It is kind of like going blind, and that I have lost a part of myself.” After hearing this from Athena, he looked at her and saw the deep hurt and pain in her eyes, and his heart broke for her. “Athena, you have done nothing to apologize for. This is not your fault, never think this is on you. It was that bastard Blaze who is responsible for this.” “But Bjorn, there is something else. Just days ago, the Temple of Ragnarok had been attacked and destroyed. That was where I was when I was cursed. Every priestess that had been there were slaughtered, and there was nothing I could do but flee. As I fled, Ragnarok had given me a brief glimpse of you and where you were and a message that I was meant to find you.” “But why me? I have nothing left, no home, no kingdom, no subjects, absolutely nothing.” “Bjorn, Ragnarok had led me to you for a reason, and I believe there is a greater reason. Ragnarok doesn’t do anything without reason, or a purpose and it is all part of a grand design. This, I believe wholeheartedly, and I have faith in Ragnarok and in you. You must believe and have faith in Ragnarok.” “Even if I believe and have faith, I wouldn’t even know where to begin or what I am supposed to do. All I know, is that Blaze and everyone who had betrayed us needs to pay for this. But I am only one dragon shifter. What hope do I have at getting revenge on everyone and making them pay for their treachery?”
Athena grew quiet and Bjorn looked over at her and her eyes had started to glow a beautiful amber color. As he sat there looking at Athena, he noticed just how beautiful she was. With long silver hair done in braids and her pale skin seemed to have a slight glow underneath the full moon. Several minutes later, her eyes stopped glowing and she looked over at Bjorn and spoke
“You may not know what you are supposed to do, but that is why I am here. Since I have a connection to Ragnarok, I can help you. I can see what path Ragnarok has set out for you and guide you on our journey.” “Athena, have you lost your damn mind? You do realize that If I were to set out to get vengeance on Blaze, it would be extremely dangerous? If you came with me on this journey, you could get hurt or even killed.” “I already know this will be a highly perilous journey, but it would be worth it if I could remove this curse and get my magick and foresight back. But moreso, I want to help right the wrongs done to both of us. If the forbidden magick is being used by a madman, that is even more dangerous, and nobody anywhere will be safe. If there is anything I can do to stop this from happening again, it would be well worth the risk. Even if I have to forfeit my life in doing so.” After hearing Athena speak and seeing the fierce determination on her face, Bjorn couldn’t help but feel a strong feeling of pride and his respect for her grew thousand-fold but he couldn’t help the strong feeling of dread. “Athena are you absolutely sure about this?” “Yes Bjorn, I am sure. Ragnarok wouldn’t have sent me to you if this wasn’t meant to happen. The risk is great certainly, but the reward is even greater.” “Alright, but will you tell me what you had seen in that vision? Where do we go first?”
“We will need allies, so we must cross the sea to the kingdom of Ebony. They to were betrayed by Blaze and will want vengeance. That is our first task.”
Bjorn thought back to the weeks before the tragedy when Draconia was almost ready to war with Ebony, and his father came up with a solution to end the feud by agreeing to wed Sapphire to the prince of Ebony. Thinking of his family sent a pang of sadness through him, but he had to pull himself together. Suddenly he had felt a small, delicate and soft hand on his hand and he looked at Athena who had a sad smile on her face like she knew what he was thinking of.
“Alright, now we have a plan and a starting point, we should both go inside and get some rest. We will have a long ass journey ahead of us. We will leave at dawn.” “Yes, you’re right. Goodnight, Bjorn.” “Goodnight, Athena.” As Athena started to walk away, Bjorn spoke to her.
“Athena wait, I never thanked you for traveling all this way to help me, so from the bottom of my heart, I thank you.” She turned to look at him and said “You don’t have to thank me Bjorn. I would have done this anyway.” The next morning Bjorn and Athena woke before dawn and packed what supplies they would need to survive on the open sea. Then Bjorn had written a letter for Mikael and his clan on what they had planned to do and told them to leave and not to come back until the threat has been stopped and left the clan enough gold coins to relocate them and allow them to live comfortably. Bjorn and Athena had donned their dark-colored and hooded cloaks and climbed on their horses and began their journey to the port.
A few hours later, they made it to the port and Athena turned to Bjorn. “Are you okay? Are you sure you want to go through with this? It’s okay if you are having second thoughts.” “I’m okay and no I am not having second thoughts. This must be done, no matter what. It’s like you said nobody anywhere will be safe as long as Blaze is using the forbidden magick and they need to pay for their sins and betrayals. Many good people had perished that night and all because of the greed and madness and deception of one man. You know, at night when I close my eyes to go to sleep, I can still hear the screams of the people; men, women and children, as they were burned alive and can still smell the puddles of blood everywhere. But what haunts me the most is seeing my entire family dead and mounted on the front gates.” “I’m sorry Bjorn. They didn’t deserve that horrific fate. The reason I had an arrangement with your parents was because I had seen in a vision of what a fair and kind and just rulers they would become and seen the peace and prosperity the country of Draconia would have for generations and I have seen how they genuinely cared for their people and subjects. That is why I swore to your parents that if I had seen anything that threatened their kingdom and family, I would warn them immediately. Normally priestesses are not allowed to interfere in political matters for any reason. We are supposed to remain neutral and not choose sides. However, when I was a young child, my whole family was killed by brigands, and I was left as an orphan. Your parents had just been married and crowned king and queen at that time and they took an escort out and rode to all the villages in the country to meet with their subjects. They had come to my family home and found me all alone and scared. Your mother had found me first and called to your father. I had never been so nervous. Your mother had slowly approached me telling me that everything will be okay, and she sat down next to me, a dirty child with tears streaming down my face. She just sat there holding me and rubbing my back and didn’t care that her beautiful dress was getting ruined. She just said, “It’s just a dress my dear, I can always get another.” After that, I flung myself into her arms and cried nonstop. As she was holding and comforting me, my magick had developed and my abilities had manifested. When we realized that my magicka had manifested, she immediately seemed to know what my gifts were, and she spoke to Devan, and he had tested my abilities and they determined that I had the gift of foresight, and I didn’t know or understand what that meant. King Devan had picked me up and Queen Silverine had wrapped her shawl around me, and they took me to the palace and made sure I was fed and cleaned up and they told me that I was a very unique and rare child, and I didn’t just have a regular type of ability and magicka, but I was an oracle and that I was destined for greatness. I didn’t understand what that meant but Queen Silverine had said that only the oracles have a strong connection to Ragnarok and have the gift of foresight and that there was only one place that was safe enough for me to live safely and that was the Temple of Ragnarok and that there were other priestesses there to be able to teach me how to use and control my gifts. They had allowed me to stay in the palace for a few days and they made sure I was fed and clothed and generally cared for before we all made our way to the Temple of Ragnarok. When we got there the head priestess had examined me and determined that King Devan and Queen Silverine were correct in their assessment of my gifts. When it came time for them to leave, I had begged them to take me with them, but King Devan had said it wasn’t safe for me to be anywhere except the temple. I had asked why, and Queen Silverine had said that there were bad people who would want to take advantage of my gifts and if they couldn’t use me, they would kill me. As they left, Queen Silverine had told the head priestess to take the very best care of me and King Devan had told her that if the temple had needed anything at all, whether it was to care for me or the temple, to send word immediately.
A year later, I had a vision that Queen Silverine was with her second hatchling, and I went to visit them in the palace, and I had told them, and Devan had asked me what this hatchling will be, and I told him that it was a girl hatchling.” As Bjorn listened to her tale, he had thought back to that day when the three of them rode out to all the villages of the country to meet the citizens and he remembered the only farmhouse that looked so badly dilapidated and worn-down. His parents had walked in and spent more time in there and he was beginning to grow impatient and ready to stomp his way in there and find out what was keeping them when suddenly they walked out, and his father was carrying a little girl who was fast asleep, and she was wrapped in his mother’s shawl. Bjorn just kept watching her while she was asleep, and he thought she was very pretty. His dragon had sensed that this girl was unique, and he couldn’t figure out why.
When they returned to the palace, Devan had carried the girl to the guest quarters in the east wing of the palace and Silverine had pulled the blankets down for Devan to place the sleeping girl on the bed and tucked her in all while Bjorn had just followed them and watched them intently. As they turned and found Bjorn in the doorway, Devan knew that his son was curious as to why they brought a stranger into the palace and the three had walked out of the room silently shutting the door and walked to the king and queen’s bedchamber. As soon as they had entered the room Bjorn had started to speak. “Mother, father why did you bring this girl here? Who is she? How long is she staying?” It was Silverine who replied first. “My son, we brought this girl here to the palace because she doesn’t have any family left and she is extremely rare and unique, and she needs to be protected at all costs. Her name is Athena and her magicka and her gifts had started to manifest.” “So? What does this have to do with us?” This time it was Devan who answered. “Son, Athena is not an ordinary child as your mother just said. She is one of the last oracles in Draconia. If we had left her in that farmhouse, she would have been taken by our enemies and used against us, or worse she would have died. Just as your mother said, she is one of the last oracles in Draconia and if you paid attention during your studies, you would know that oracles are extremely rare, and they are the only type of shifters who have a strong connection to Ragnarok.”
After hearing what his parents had said, Bjorn went straight to the east wing of the palace and silently walked into the room and stood in the doorway and just watched her sleep. He kept thinking that she really was a special girl, and she is very pretty. Silverine had quietly approached Bjorn and gently pulled him out of the room and down the hallway where they could speak privately and quietly without disturbing Athena’s rest and looked at Bjorn with a knowing smile on her face. “Bjorn my son, what are you doing awake and why are you watching Athena?” “Because I had somehow sensed that she was special. And… I think she is really pretty” Bjorn said with a sheepish look on his face. “Mother, why can’t she just stay with us? We can take care of her and protect her better than anyone else.” “Because my darling son, there are things we can do for her, but she will need to be around her kind to teach her how to use and control her magicka. Because If she isn’t properly trained by her kind, her magicka will drive her to madness and she will die.” “Why can’t we just bring a priestess here to teach her?” “Oh, my son, the priestesses need to be at the Temple of Ragnarok to strengthen their connection to Ragnarok because the stronger the connection, the stronger their power gets.” “Do not fret my son, you are young and will have plenty of time to meet your chosen mate but not until you are much older and more mature.” As Bjorn and Athena traveled closer to the port, Bjorn had realized that they couldn’t use their true names or risk Blaze finding and killing them where they stand. “Athena, we cannot go on using our true names or risk the traitors sending word to Blaze. From now on I am no longer Bjorn of Clan Royal. I am Wrath. And I suggest you change your name as well.” “That is a brilliant idea. Well, since you’re Wrath, I am Serenity.” As they entered the port and dismounted their horses, Serenity had paid for the both of them to board the ship to the country of Ebony. As soon as the captain of the ship handed her the tokens, she turned to Wrath. “Are you sure you want to go through with this? Do you have a plan?”
“I have to do this, there is no choice. Blaze and all the other traitors need to pay for what they have done and not only for my family and kingdom, but for what they have done to the Temple of Ragnarok. Especially if Blaze is using the forbidden magick, then no one anywhere is safe. The plan is to visit the royal clan of Ebony and request their aid and convince them to join our side to take down the traitors.” “Do you really believe they would help?” “I don’t know, but we have to try. I can’t imagine they wouldn’t want to help given that the prince of Ebony was murdered at the palace that night. I am sure the king would like to see the traitors punished for what they have done.” “Yeah, you’re right. I don’t like being without my foresight, because I can’t see what path I’m supposed to take or how to guide anyone.” “But you were able to see that we were supposed to travel to Ebony. How is that?” “That only happens when I reach into the void and bend it to my will, but that tends to take it’s toll on me and it takes several days for me to recover from that.” “Well, I’m grateful you risked it to help me with this. But are you sure you want to tag along with me for this mission? I will be extremely dangerous.” The captain of the ship called for the passengers to board the ship. “Yes, I am sure of this. Your family saved my life and made sure I was taken care of when I had nothing. This is the least I could do for them. Now let’s get on the ship before they leave us behind.”
“What is it you ultimately want from this mission, Wrath?” Serenity had asked him as they settled into their quarters when the ship set sail.
“I want those bastard traitors and Blaze to feel my wrath before they die painfully and slowly.”
“what is it you ultimately want from this mission Serenity?”
“I want to destroy the forbidden magick, so I never have to be without my foresight again, and never let this happen to anyone ever again.” “Then, I will do whatever I can to help you in that treacherous endeavor, no matter what. Of this I swear to you Serenity.”
Then Wrath and Serenity had set sail and began their journey to the country of Ebony, with hope of gaining allies to bring war to Blaze.
