Never Stop

'The Wanderer' by Alain Fournier, 1928

Introduction

I have had this image from The Enchanted Booklet on Facebook saved for a while, and in some ways, it makes me think of my situation on Vocal. Everyone encourages me and is supportive, but a solution to my issue is unlikely to emerge, so I have to keep on using my workaround.

Because I am publishing "new" pieces, people think everything is OK, but it isn't.

This has been the situation since the 23rd of November. Since then, Vocal have admitted it's a system problem, have given me a year's V+ as recompense, and no communication since December 5th.

The music is "Keep On Smilin'" by Wet Willie, which I intend to do

Keep On Walking

He was told he would find his dream if he kept walking and kept following the path through the forest. He could see the castle on the hill, and the voices told him that he would find his dream there.

He kept walking, and the yellow and pink lanterns lit his way.

He felt he had been walking forever, but the castle seemed no nearer. The voices told him:

"Don't Give Up"

You Will Make It"

"You Will Find Your Dream, You Deserve It"

He believed the voices, he was encouraged by them, and he knew he deserved to find his dream. He had worked so hard for it, and he had helped many others on the way, but he was now the only one on the path to the castle.

But the hours walking turned into days, turned into weeks, turned into months, turned into years, and he was no nearer to the castle.

The voices were still encouraging and pointing him towards success, and he saw the lights of his friends at the castle. They had made it and were happy there.

He was still on the forest path and felt that we would always be there, despite the encouragement of the voices and his friends.

Maybe tomorrow.......

I wish you continue this story. I wonder what his plan was once he reach the castle.

  • They'll be back tomorrow with the Leaderboard. Hopefully they'd get back to you as well

  • The road is long indeed. And we do wonder when it ends! Great one, Mike.

Great story, Mike. What does it say about me that I wonder what gem was lost though, when you created this piece? Based on the old comments, the article about Christopher Lee?

What do they say the system problem is? Have you written more pieces than they have for some reason limited our accounts to? I am not actually that great with computers, so I might be missing something obvious.

  • I'm really sorry you are still having to use your work around to post. That must be so frustrating. But on the bright side, it has given you great inspiration. This story was wonderful and very relatable. I think Manny of us feel from time to time we are trekking through a vast forest constantly struggling too get to the promised end of the road where all our friends already seem to be waiting. And here I am, looking at the castle built of your massive readership and volumes of stories thinking if I just keep going one day I can be as great as Mike.

  • Agreed. Love your take on this. Great music choices, too! PS Christopher Lee was the best Dracula ever.
