A Tale Inspired By The John La Farge Painting

Intruduction
I wrote a haiku based on this painting, which you can read here
I thought it deserved a story as well.
I found it on The Enchanted Booklet here:
The music is "The Storm" by HAVASI feat. Lisa Gerrard

The traveller had been trudging through the blizzard since he could remember. He was freezing and was sure his extremities were blue, even though he was clad in warm furs.
He needed to find shelter soon, or he would freeze to death, and the storm was not letting up; he felt it wanted him to die.
In the distance on a small hill, he thought that he saw a huge tree that would provide some shelter for him, and maybe save his life.
He thought he had found safety when he reached the tree, but as he drew near, he saw the claw and the face of the spirit of the storm.
He turned to run, but the storm took him and drew him into its jaws.
He knew he would not see the dawn.

Talk about a bitter cold end. Great article Mike
Wow, that's a pretty terrifying story, Mike, and the music is eerie as well.
Oh that's very eerie and cold. I love it.
Good job. I was drawn into the story as the character was pulled into the storm.
Nice one Mike love it π¦ππ¦
