Flirt

But who was flirting with whom?

The creature was enamoured by her red bathing costume as she sat on her boat in the lagoon.

She was enamoured by the pearls from the oysters that lived on the bed in the depths of the water, and continually broadcast her wishes in words and songs.

The creature heard her and collected the pearls and fashioned them into a necklace that he placed into a shell. He then rose up through the waves and presented her with his creation.

The necklace was beautiful, but the creature was not handsome.

What should she do?

She wanted the necklace, so she accepted it, and the creature kissed her hand and shyly swam away.

Would she see the creature again?

She didn't know.

The creature may not have been handsome, but it had a heart of gold.

She hoped that one day they would meet again.

She wondered if it could talk.

She would be on the lagoon again tomorrow, maybe they would meet then.

Oh, beauty is on the inside, and this "creature" has a heart of gold. Sounds like a keeper to me ;)
