It started here
Black Rainbows
Observation platforms sent back what they saw on the column of nothing. It pierced the Earth and then swung round in a huge infinity shape passing through and back out of a black hole that had appeared at the edge of the Solar System.
For ten years the column had just been there and avoided, but now things were happening and it didn't look good.
The nothing column had started putting out crescents of black light and people called them black rainbows. Like the nothing column if anyone entered a crescent or black rainbow, they were gone.
Then news came that Earth's core was cooling, heat being drained probably to the black hole. No one knew if this was natural, but it seemed planned.
Estimates were made that in five years the Earth would become uninhabitable, and there was no way it could be stopped. People had predicted Climate Change and Fossil Fuels would destroy life on this planet, but now there was something else and this had no solution.
Man had still not got any further than the Moon, and once the Earth collapsed so would the Moon. The nuclear shelters would be of no use as the Earth grew cold and stopped turning, followed by it dropping out of its orbit and spiralling towards the Sun if it didn't hit Venus or Mercury on the way.
Riots ensued, society just collapsed, and people walked into the Nothing Column and black rainbows hoping forlornly that they would find their God.
In five years or less humanity and life on Earth would be gone forever, and no one would know why.

I love the way it is unfolding; it has me hooked. Great job Mike.
What scary thoughts this story brings about. We do have to be careful in dealing with environmental issues. Good job.
