Vocal Community Microfiction Series - Gamers
"I think you should put a double jump around here."
Jax glanced at the controller in Marie's hands and made a note. "Okay. Can you try pressing A? It should activate your special."
Marie did as instructed. Her pixelated avatar threw a fireball against a stone wall.
"Good," Jax took a deep breath. "The code's working."
"Oh, a chest!" Marie moved her avatar towards it. "X, right?"
Jax nodded.
The chest opened. Her name and four words floated out. They formed a question.
Marie dropped the controller.
Jax got down on one knee.

Fantastic storytelling! A perfect sliver of pure romantic happiness, all images, the words dissolved into emotion. 💯❤️💕
Oh my lanta, my heart. 💓 Ok, I * love * this. You are truly a microfiction master. 💓
Love this one ❤️ Nice getting a bit of romance in there 😊
This is beautiful. I LOVE it. I’m a sucker for romance.
Awww, that was so sweet!
As any gamer would respond, "Awesome!" (Either that or, "Cool!")
She better have said yes, lol. Coding is not easy. Great story!!!
Oh, he coded a proposal! That was inventive I really liked that. Perhaps the first proposal with a fireball, no?
Great proposal idea and entertaining micro-fiction as well!
I loved this; leads you in just far enough to get you with the trapdoor. I actually proposed to my fiance and I did something kind of similar!
Oh, that was sweet... Could hear the theme music and feel the love in the air... ;)
This one is so cute! Loved this idea, Loryne!
Dang, they may be Beta testing but Jax, like the Chad he is, just pulled an Alpha move of a proposal. Nice! Lowkey, I wonder though if they went back to playing the game afterwards.
