After What My Dad Did
I have reasons against marriage, which I wouldn't divulge to a twin soul
- Queen Elizabeth I
_______________🏰⚔️👑⚜️🤴⚜️👑⚔️🏰_______________
"Absolutely no way, after what my dad did, I will never, ever countenance marriage. He could have divorced my mum, sent her some place nice, he was the king after all, but no, he had to show that he was a powerful alpha male and had her beheaded.
The thing is, he was too cowardly to do it himself, though he was probably too fat and weak, so he paid his minions to take her and do the awful deed. He was an awful manbaby expecting to get his own way with whatever he wanted. If people didn't do what he wanted, he would pay someone to disappear them.
If I married, chances are the man would want to show his "strength" and "superiority" just like my dad. I suppose I could marry a woman, now that would flummox them, wouldn't it? Seriously, I don't think I could trust anybody.
Once you have power and money, you can never have friends, and cannot trust anybody, so that is why I will never marry.
I know men will hate me for not marrying, but I will play them off against each other, and I will get my way, and I will do what needs to be done.
People will remember me as a strong queen who embodied the power of woman."

Very creative, and very well-told!
What a great way to teach History. I read a fiction book about Anne Boylen a few months ago and now I think I am about to re-read. Good job.
Is it any wonder she never married? Her family was a perfect example of why not to marry, from her father to the disastrous marriages of her cousin Mary, Queen of Scots. Wonderful piece; you captured her voice perfectly, and I love the part about flummoxing them by marrying a woman. Great job.
