"I hate this!"

Morgan stomped after her parents, her boots kicking at the trail.

"I told you! I just want to stay home!"

Her parents trudged silently ahead of her.

They must regret bringing me here. Morgan thought. Stupid mountain-

Her parents stopped suddenly.

"Come." They took her by the hand.

"I don't want to-"

"Look."

The forest fell away in a riot of colour. Pinks, purples, fushias, and whites. The wind swirled, dusting petals across the clear blue sky.

Morgan gasped in wonder.

Hours later, she was the last to leave.

Oh, I adore this. Absolutely stunning. 💓

  • Wow! I can picture the transition of images in my head! So well done 👏

So beautiful. We spend all this time scrolling, searching, yet the most wondrous sights are the tactile ones we must go out and experience. These kids are gonna learn to touch grass. 😆

    Wonderfully vivid. Well done.

Glad this one had a happy ending. Good for her! 💖

  • And here I was, expectant Morgan to somehow commit suicide to make her parents regret bridging her along 🤣🤣🤣

Yeah, we've all had those moments as kids before were we were so resistant and stubborn to anything that we were forced to do, until we discovered the actual joy in it. Once we did, we never wanted to leave it or stop doing it at all.

I like how even the parents were trudging...again, your details provide context and depth.

  • Isn't that just the way of it with most of us? Grousing about everything until finally we are stopped by wonder.

    Beautiful!!!💖💖💕

  • Many times have I lingered upon a scene from nature as one might stand in awe before a master's artwork. You captured the feeling well here!

  • Oh this is so beautiful and innocent 🌸 i really enjoyed this one

It’s certainly worth the hike, when you see untame beauty of the color of nature before you 🥰

Beautiful story, I love how simple yet relatable it is. You've captured a feeling I'm sure a lot of us have experienced in so few words. Great job!

  • I love it! They showed her the way!

Great story, and very relatable! I remember going on a community trip to a forest.. kind of like a kids camp learning some camping and survival skills, and I felt the same.. I didn't want to do it because of the forest etc. But when I got there, I felt how amazing it was just being among the massive trees, along with the fresh forest smells. It was very relaxing and felt isolated from the world
