Pondering decisions bringing me here to this moment, by dint of ice-capped eyes. Wide open, peering motionless through a prodigious kaleidoscope.

Fortunate to be gazing into some magical illusions, exploding silently all around me. Dancing wildly with the persistent will of the wind, cascading swiftly, through the snow-covered treetops.

The verglas materializes, forming symmetrical patterns about the fringes, faintly frosted, leaving a thin mosaic glaze. A subtle film that slightly obscures the view in a delicate layer of clouded ice, as if the light was unable to penetrate it. Reflecting a haloed mist, castoff of the delicate snowflakes, drizzling effortlessly from the gray, polka-dotted clouds, frozen in place to the indigo-colored sky, revealing an intricate puzzle.

The center, the remarkable center, feeds the storm with a palpable fury that winks and glistens like diamonds, transmitting an iridescent beam of light displaying a priceless work of art.

Ensepulchered and numb I lay, encased in a blanket of snow, left to trickle and dissolve into the landscape. Transforming my being, permeating into the scenery that surrounds me. Tear shaped droplets form and fall, creating salt infused icicles, capturing the luminosity of my eyes.

Pink graupel surrounds my form like rose petals, soothing the sting of the frigid air on my skin. Regret and melancholy mingle with the sweet scent of pine in the wintry air.

As the powder encapsulates, I no longer hear the hissing of the wind rustling the leaves. All that is left are the muffled sounds of transformation.
