Uh Oh Spaghetti O's a baby boomer delight turns 65
The popular jingle for the neat round spaghetti you can eat with a spoon has been around for seven decades.

Uh Oh Spaghetti O's
"The neat round spaghetti you can eat with a spoon, uh oh Spaghetti O's." Baby boomer children grew up with this jingle from television commercials. How amazing to little minds that pasta could be formed into a circle and eaten with a spoon rather than a fork.
Today as I opend a can of this spaghetti for my middle grandson I found mysellf singing the jingle. Boomers kbow the drill. We can't remember why we walked into a room but memories from past deades return with clarity.

Seven decades of a favorite
In October 2025 Spaghetti O's which debuted in 1965 and the jingle will turn 60. Like many of my generation I can recall songs from many years ago with ease but we will walk into a room and not remember why. I have been singing the Spaghetti O's jingle all day since opening the can of food for my grandson.
It's stuck in my head and if you view the video below, it probably will stick with you also. Nostalgia and memories from the good old days are popular with Boomers. Facebook is filled with images of boomer children on metal sliding boards, playing in the dirt or doubling each other on bikes. We now know how special those days were and lament that they will not be realized again.
Where are the Campbells kids?
Where are the children hired by Campbells today. How many are still with us and what careers did they choose. There is no record of the boys and girls who appeared in the Spaghetti O's commercial. They were boomer kids and those still living today would be in their 60s, 70s, and 80s.
I wonder if any of them did more commercials or if some may have gone on to television or film. Perhaps they all left thsi chapter of their lives behind and settled into traditinal careers.

Spaghetti O's brands
The Cambells Soup Company, now known as Campbells introduced Spaghetti O's under the label Franco American in 1965. This brand was acquired by Campbells in 1915 and phased out in the 1990s. I recall feeling cheated eating the pasta without meatballs for decades.
I only learned in later years that there was a Spaghetti O's version with meatballs that had been available since the product debuted. There also used to be Spaghetti O's with franks but they wer discontinued. According to Wikipedia moer than 150 million cans of this product are sold each year.

Inflation takes a toll
When Spaghetti O's debuted in 1965, they cost about 10 cents per can. Today, a 15.8 oz container typically costs around a dollar or slightly more, depending on the store.
While inflation has significantly increased the price, many still consider it a delicious canned food option. Children of all ages continue to enjoy the neat, round spaghetti that can be eaten with a spoon. Uh Oh, Spaghetti O's!

A new adult flavor has been added
The original caption that this was the best invention since the napkin still holds true. In 2023, the company began selling red hot Spaghetti O's with franks for adults who grew up eating this canned food. If a poll were done today, they might find that many boomers enjoy the original version now, just as much as they did in the 1960s and 1970s
If you have not thought about Spaghetti O's in a while, but now are craving them you can find this food on the shelves of your favorite grocery stores and convienence stores. Happy 60th birthday to this popular pasta and a shotu out to all the big kids who grew up loving it, and still do.

How you feel like SpaghettiOs when I was a kid. I was five years old in 1965 so I was the perfect age for a treat like that. As I’ve grown this delicacy is not favorable anymore to my palate. However I do have fond memories of the childhood favorite and of course known the jingle well.
