How to Make Your Ketogenic Journey Easier

As the name implies, a ketogenic diet causes the body to run on ketones instead of sugar from carbohydrates such as pasta, grains, or sugary foods. Ketones are a type of acid formed when the body burns fat rather than carbs for energy. This diet is roughly composed of 70% healthy fats, 20% protein, and just 10% carbs.

While many people opt for the ketogenic diet for its proven health advantages, they find it quite challenging to find healthy ketogenic alternatives to the carb-based foods they previously used to consume as their main diet. It seems that healthy foods tend to be bland and boring whereas unhealthy foods tend to be delicious and diverse. For example, it is very unlikely to find a keto bread that is as fluffy, spongy and tasty as the wheat/corn flour bread because the keto-friendly flours, especially almond flour, do not make bread that has similar texture or that lends itself easily to making sandwiches and wraps, and sometimes such bread even tastes awful.

Likewise, most sweets and desserts that you can find in regular stores are either not keto friendly, as they contain lots of traditional carb-loaded grain flours and starches as well as sugar, or too expensive.

I say this from my personal experience as a ketogenic follower who has tried dozens of recipes of keto bread but with very limited success. It is almost impossible to bake bread that has as good taste and texture as wheat bread even after adding highly touted ingredients that support resilient texture, such as psyllium husk!!

Keto becomes really tough because you have to quit most of your high-carb “pleasure foods” that you used to consume. It will become too challenging if you need to make a radical change in your eating menu and to suppress your cravings. However, keto will become much easier if you can find substitutes to the foods you crave but have to quit, especially bread and sweets. It will definitely become fun if you find replacements to your non-keto foods that taste as delicious, if not more, and that do not make you feel guilty for putting bad stuff into your body. This way you can feel that you are rewarded for making this huge change in your eating style. This way you can stay inside your warm comfort zone.

To make your ketogenic journey much easier, it would be very helpful to find a kind of book or guide that you can turn to to prepare your daily meals and desserts. Needless to say that there are many books out there but I found this one very useful in terms of both form and content - it presents high-quality keto recipes in an interesting and easy manner.

It is worth mentioning that the above-mentioned book contains easy and affordable 100+ keto recipes including breakfast, appetizers, entrees, desserts, drinks, and snacks that are designed to satisfy your cravings and help you lose weight at the same time. It also provides you with the net-carb, fat, protein, and calorie count for every recipe. Moreover, all recipes contain almost no carbs or sugars, and taste so good that you’ll never crave non-keto foods. What is better than having warm, fluffy, fresh-baked, 100% keto bread that is super healthy, helps you lose weight, and even more delicious than any non-keto, unhealthy store bread!!

It is also worth-mentioning that this book is free, but you need to pay for the shipping fees. You may want to give it a try because it might make your keto journey fun, or at least less difficult.
