The Buffet is the best Bang for the Buck

A Review of Duff's Buffet Restaurant

A Nice Clean Buffet Restaurant

I love the buffet! Today it's confusing where to go to eat. Staying home isn't as low cost as it used to be. A home of two people can easily spend 200 dollars on groceries per week if they're not penny pinching careful. So sometimes it is easier and cheaper to eat out. Of course, since the minium wage was raised, the prices of what used to be "cheap" food (ie: McDonalds and the fast food chains) isn't "cheap" anymore. When my sweetheart and I go to any drive-thru we know we won't get what we want without having 20 bucks at least. The value menu is gone. There is no more Dollar for a burger option. I gasped in horror when I realized that a large french fry is now $5.00. So I made sure to buy a bag of potatoes at the grocery store. They'll go a lot further.

I only mention these comments about the economy and food budgeting as an introduction to my restaurant review because I love the buffet restaurants! They really truly are the best value for your $20. Most of the old timers know this already and I've noticed that they frequent the buffet places the most. Families are starting to join in. I think Moms like seeing their kids try something new --- something they might not do at home.

Duff's Buffet restaurant is a wonderful place to eat. For a little less than $20 you can eat until your stomach's contentment and they have everything. It's Americana Pot Luck style and everything I've tried there has been worthy and delicious. Whoever is cooking behind the scenes knows what they are doing.

There's a great salad section, two rows of lunch/dinner selections (including delicious sides, my favorite so far was the warm glazed apples) and also a dessert section with cake and gelatin and other pleasing surprises. The bread section is a bit small, only 3 types of bread for choosing, but they are all warm and fresh and tasty.

The tables are very nice. Old fashioned wooden square tables with matching chairs. They have a few booths, but most of the time they are already taken. The ambiance is family style, a bit crowded and busy but once you sit down the crowd feels good, like a big family reunion. The only thing one might complain about, (except that Duff's wouldn't) is that sometimes ther is a waiting line to get in. Not usually that long, but I've seen it up to a half hour. Best thing to do if you don't like waiting is to avoid peak times like Friday, Saturday, and Sunday dinner times.

I definitely recommend this establishment. There is nothing bad to say about it. The food is good, the place is clean, the people who work there are smart and friendly, and it's definitely worth the price they are asking. It's a fair deal, a budget friendly experience that makes you feel happy you spent some money instead of doubting yourself or doing a double thought about expenses and the budget. It's the best bang for the buck if you want to eat out.
