A Quest for Lettuce
Last night was difficult, to say the least. I like to be in bed early. Nine, ten o’clock at the latest. Relax. Read, and drift peacefully off to sleep. But at about quarter till nine last night, I made the mistake of looking in my fridge. Empty.

My Carnivore and I. Top Story - August 2017.
Being vegan can be a struggle. Never mind buying and preparing food for yourself, what about your beloved, carnivorous, significant other? I witnessed this battle between my brother and sister-in-law; he ate bacon everyday (livin' the dream) and she was vegan. She would cook his meals and then prepare her own. Now, she is nearing the end of a 6 year battle as my brother has almost completely transitioned to a vegan lifestyle. I am at the beginning of my own battle. I have no desire to change my boyfriend's ways, he can do that on his own if he so chooses, but what is he open to eating? How do I afford it? How do I manage my time? Is the only option to buy double the food and spend double the time? No one has time for that. I've developed skills in feeding my carnivore, and hopefully, they can help you feed yours!

Homemade Tomato Sauce
Today I am making homemade tomato sauce. This is one of the condiments I like to prepare and have on hand regularly. I have always loved ketchup and was used to slathering it with almost every meal. Glorious Passion Fruit
The Spanish name "flor das cinco chagas" was first given to this wonderful fruit by missionaries in Brazil. I am sure there are other names used for passion fruit by the indigenous inhabitants of Brazil, but I have not been able to easily find them.

Gluten-Free Summer Desserts
Summer desserts are always so tasty, but at times, many people can't enjoy classic summertime sweets. After all, gluten intolerance is a real issue — and that makes things like cakes, donuts, and ice cream sandwiches harder to enjoy, if not downright impossible.

Healthy Turkey Crock Pot Recipes
Turkey is one of those foods that most people don't seem interested in eating unless it's around the holiday season — and that's a sad shame if you ask me. When cooked right, turkey is one of the healthiest, most flavorful meats you can buy.

How to Make Siiiick Hash Browns
Potatoes are the cruelest root. They’re literally inedible raw. They’re boring as all hell in most preparations. Don’t @ me with your counterpoints: nobody eats mashed potatoes without a gallon of cream cheese in them, stuffed potatoes are just vessels for whatever you’re putting on them, and fries need like duck fat or an entire block of sodium to be palatable. Potatoes suffer from the “rice problem,” which is that a food so incredibly boring on its own that it makes you want to chew on paint chips just to feel something can be elevated to such delicious heights. They are difficult.
