Grocery shopping is not fun, rushing down the aisles with that one broken wheel trying to navigate your way through people, and making sure you’re not running over children on top of trying to find that one irregular item like capers and then getting to that shelf just find out the store is out. Then, there’s the hassle of finding a recipe that’s good and has not been over done or that you and your partner like and the making a list of ingredients you need while scouring your fridge to find those items you need only to discover it’s gone bad. It’s a huge hassle in your life from meal prepping to making the meal. So, I made my life hassle free for a little bit. Food delivered right to my door with delicious recipes that I don’t need to plan and all the ingredients ready for me to use. Luckily these places offer discounts for consumers to try.

Hello Fresh: I’ve never had an issue with deliveries, you can choose what date you want your deliveries, and they always arrived when I needed. Everything came pre-packaged and measured out and had options of what you want to substitute like chicken instead of beef. The recipes were easy to follow and they offer a good variety from soups to salads to making tacos. You can choose from different dietary needs too such as carb-smart or vegan. Everything was fresh but if I did these meals every week day instead of 3 times a week I could see some of those ingredients going bad. Overall though very satisfied. I would order again but after any promos are done it gets expensive.

Chefs Plate: this is most likely the cheapest subscription box to get and I think it’s because of the limited options for example you can’t choose fast and easy; it’s mostly just vegetarian, vegan or vegetables and meat. The first few of my orders had multiple menu/recipe cards of the same recipe already in the box. So there would be an extra menu card. The recipes were a little confusing to follow because it would say something like “strain the pasta, but keep half a cup of the pasta water” after you had dumped out the pasta water, it felt like the wrong order of steps were put in. The food itself was great quality and the meals were delicious.

Good food box: it’s so good the recipes taste expensive, but that’s because it is expensive. Everything is portioned out to perfection. However, the variability is limited, and I found that some recipes repeat themselves regularly.

Fresh Prep: This is an interesting subscription box because they reuse their containers, and it is super eco-friendly because of that extra perk. Everything comes pre-sliced, and all the containers are clean. Once you are done, you place your used containers outside your doorstep and when they deliver, they take your used ones and wash it and provide it to someone else. So, they basically swap it out for your food meals. They offer family friendly to pescatarian and vegan options so there is something for all sorts of diets.

Factor: this is the newest subscription box, and everything is already done for you, so you stick it in the microwave and bam dinner is served! I personally do not like microwave meals, but as far as microwave meals go this is pretty good, on top of that reviews rave about how much weight someone has lost, so if you're looking to slim down this is the one to try.

Well that's it for now! I hope you enjoyed reading this! Did you ever try a subscription food box? Did you like it? Are you curious to try one?
